This is the 7th time we've bought this item, and it has lasted anywhere from 2 weeks to just over 2 years. That is a terrible record!! The only reason we keep getting it is because it's the only model we've found (so far) that is big enough to fit our casserole dish but small enough to fit on the shelf without interfering with a nearby cabinet door.

This appliance is loud. Especially when I press start for the first second or two. It's like an engine gunning up, then it quiets down a level. I hope the extra loud noise isn't an indication that there's something wrong with it. Otherwise, it's okay. I like the express cook feature. I mostly use the microwave to heat things and this appliance works fine for that. My previous microwave had a 13 1/2" plate, which was a good size for the type of things I heat, so I was pleased to find a microwave of this size, with the express cook option and in white.

I am not rating this microwave. I am rating the one that I had to replace after 19 MONTHS!!! The exact same model. The only reason I replaced it with the same model is because it fits my space. My average use on the previous one was 1/2 hour a day.. NINETEEN months and either the magnatron died or something else in the high‑voltage power section. That is simply unacceptable. When it was working, for that short period of time, t was great.

We bought this microwave as a replacement for an old GE microwave that had worn out. Maybe I should have checked first but I didn't realize that it lacks a mute feature! How is it possible in 2026 that GE sells new microwaves without the ability to mute the stupid annoying beep sound? That functionality can be implemented purely in software so it would cost them nothing. It's literally worse than the equivalent product from 15 years ago. GE is going backwards and letting their customers down.

Great size, most were smaller than we needed, but this is large enough to handle what we need. The safety feature is something we will have to get used to, but it will be great when the grandkids are here. Controls are easy to read and it heats/defrosts perfectly!

I have replaced my old, long serving GE microwave with another GE so, while I have not used it yet, I'm certain it will function just fine. Be aware that the plug sticks straight out rather than hang down at a 90 degree angle. Because it sticks straight out you will not be able to push the unit back as far as you may want to. I'd suggest GE change this in future products for ALL appliances.

This seemed like a good buy since it was marked down $40.00.

so far, the microwave is working as expected. However, I have 1 complaint and that is when you used the reheat function there is no timer countdown, just the rotating dashes while it runs. No indication of doneness. Not very serious but annoying.

The product is nice. It has been a week and I have used most functions. I like how it heats the food very pleased. Very easy to turn off the lock feature. Overall I really like it.

This GE is virtually identical to a GE Microwave I bought over 20 year ago and that is why I bought it. My 20 year old finally bit the dust, no power. I was used to the way the buttons worked and was pleased to see newer models are virtually identical. Plus I was impressed that an appliance I used daily lasted 20 years, so I believe GE earned the right for a second purchase and I hope I get another 20 years.
