The Dyson on bare floors works excellently. However on short pile tight weave rugs the suction is too good. It is almost impossible to push the unit foward because the vacuum grabs the carpet like a Xenomorph face hugger. It could easily be fixed at the factory by adding a hole on both sides of the floor attachment with a slide to regulate the amount of suction to allow the unit to move. Drilling holes by the consumer would probably void the warranty, so it go back for a refund.

I have owned a Dyson for 10 years, best vacumn ever. Thought it was time to get a new one. Dyson is not the same company it once was. Like all the other reviews the head kept falling off. I read the reviews, maybe a bad batch so I took the chance. Once it happened 3 times within 15 minutes, I took it apart and returned it. Standing in line the man in front of me also had the same problem. I will not recommend Dyson anymore.

For a standard house vac it seems ok. I can't say at this point if its a sturdy unit yet, but it doesn't feel like it would hold up well if someone accidently dropped in while carrying it. It is light weight. ONE THING that I found ridiculous about this particular unit is. It does not come with a tool holder. So that suction head you see in the picture has nowhere to clip to on the actual vacuum its self. I had to order the holder separately. I have never had to do that in the past with other vacuums. Even lesser priced units. Also you'll need to order the small stair suction adapter if you are in need of one of the small 6 inch wide suction heads. Ironically both tool holder and stair head are shown in the manual. ( THEN WHY SHOW THEM IN THE MANUAL?) Also how cheap of a company to not include at very least a tool holder on the unit. we all know how easy it is to misplace vacuum heads. Especially in a house hold with kids. Anyhow. Overall I say its just OK.

never had a vacuum like or since my 1st DYSON VACUUM. Can't be beat,I'M still using my 1st one purchased over 10 tears ago I believe and have another i purchsed because the price was great,haven't had to use number 2 yet,then I seen this one at SAM'S CLUB for such a wonderful price and deal I couldn't resist it. Now the absolutely proud owner of 3,still using the 1st one and going strong. EASIEST maintenance EVER,ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY DYSON BALL ANIMAL!

My 2nd Dyson. I’m a pretty big Dyson fan generally (hair dryer, vacuums), so when my old dyson finally sucked up its last small area rug and killed the motor, it was a no brainer that I would replace it with another. Price at Sam’s Club was unbeatable. The newer dyson is lighter than the old one without sacrificing suction/power. Like the 3 settings which can control the suction mire than my ladt model. Overall, I’m pleased!

It sucks! Fabulously! Easy assembly, but I thought I was missing 2 pieces. I called and was told this model does not include the 2 pieces even though they are pictured in the manual. I can buy them separately online but they are back ordered now. Stupid. Where am I supposed to put the cleaning tools when I’m cleaning? Good question. I’m happy with the suction but we’ll see how long it lasts as seems the plastic is cheap. I vacuum 2-3 times a week with 2 dogs and 4 cats. The missing pieces are the T tool and the tool holder. They are supposed to attach along side of vac.

Dyson is really penny pinching on what is still an expensive vacuum. Since it’s their base model they decided not to include the accessory holder even though the vacuum comes with accessories. The carry handle inspires no confidence and feels flimsy. Lastly they have instructions that are pictorial only and include parts that aren’t included adding to confusion

There are 2 settings. 1 for carpet and tile/wood. it is easy to vacuum rugs if you use the properly. I read several reviews that explained how hard it is to push. they must not realize there are 2 functions because when you select the roller to run the va uum is self propelled. I love this

This is my third trash Dyson (yes, I know and my last one). I used it twice before needing to take it apart because it was clogged-when taking it apart it looks like it was made to clog. I do have a dog but she is a doodle and dirt with a kiddo, but come on that is what the vacuum is for. I put it together waited a few days and used it for 10 minutes-it overheated again. I DO NOT recommend any Dyson vac every one I’ve had has had issues and the last one was under warranty when it crapped out. They promised they would replace it when it was “back in stock” that was four months ago-they still aren’t “in stock” but are on sale on the website. I bought this one as a stop gap-but just wasted my money. Learn from my mistakes and don’t waste your money on these expensive pieces of trash unless you are a VERY tidy person who only needs to empty your vacuum once a month.

This is a great vacuum cleaner. Very powerful. However, I don't recommend it for older people. It is heavy. And as much as I love it, I'm not able to carry it upstairs to vacuum. So, I'm currently using it for my downstairs. I still have my old battery powered Dyson that I use upstairs.
