These are pretty spectacular vacuums compared to what I have used in the past. I actually still use my first Dyson vacuum out in the garage on an indoor/outdoor carpeted floor. Still works fine. It's just old and I'd rather use a new one inside my living space. I actually have one just like this one here that I am reviewing, that I bought in January 2022. The beater bar brush part connects and wires to the vacuum separately on these, and it quit working (it died). I was out of warranty, so I bought this new vacuum and took the beater bar off and attached it to the 2022 vacuum and that one started working again, so I just need a new beater bar brush for it, and it will work again ($65). They are versatile in that respect. And they have an attachment hose with crevice accessories etc to get into tight spots. Also the canister that collects the dirt and dust disconnects and you can walk it out to the garbage can and dump it, no bags to deal with. The Beater bar head that swivels and makes contact with your floor is not real wide, and it's pretty small and low, so you can push it into small spaces that other vacuum heads may not fit into. The vacuum is very heavy and awkward. The hose feature is almost impossible to use unless you're only a foot away from where you want to vacuum. The photo on Sam's website shows a lady with the hose on stairs doesn't seem to have any issues keeping the hose from retracting which in my opinion is impossible. Both myself and my husband tried together and weren't able to successfully recreate the photo or more importantly vacuum our stairs.

Opened it, very heavy , cheap plastic cord holder, everything about this was cheap. Has the Dyson brand but if this is how they make other products - they are way overrated! Returned - wouldn't know why anybody would keep a $200 vac that maybe is worth $20.

This is my 3rd Dyson upright and by far my favorite. The suction power is great and it does a wonderful job on carpets as well as hard floors. My only issue is the hose attachment. The pictures show a lady walking up/cleaning the stair with the hose--I call BS! Due to the power of the vacuum, the hose doesn't stretch out. When you are using it the vacuum follows you around and you have to fight the hose to get it to extend. It was the same with my last model as well.

My Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 vacuum stopped working properly so I purchased the new Animal 3. The new vacuum was fine on the tile floor however almost impossible to push on the carpeting. It also would not lock in the upright position when moving it from room to room. Dyson sent me an easy push head that was supposed to fix both problems. It was a LITTLE better in locking in the upright position and still difficult to push on carpeting. Dyson said I could take it to a "Dyson" store (only 2 in the state of Florida) or pack it up and ship to the one in Ft. Lauderdale. They did provide a shipping label. I was notified of the arrival of the vacuum at Dyson and also when they returned it. I believe they had it for about 30 minutes. The machine was returned to me quickly however it was no different than before. I called Dyson and there is nothing else they can do. They did offer me a 20% discount on another vacuum. Needless to say, I am no longer a Dyson fan. I returned the vacuum.

What a steal on pricing, but correct - the stair tool and attachment holder is missing. Quick fix as all you have to do is call Dyson. They’ll register the item and process replacement for no extra charge. If you have old dyson vacuums, you can save the replacements and reuse them aswell.

I’ve had the animal ball for 10 yrs. Just bought this new one and the auto adjust is horrible! Can’t move it on carpet at all and brushes won’t turn on the carpet. On my hardwood it works wonderful. If want for carpet I do not recommend. I looked up videos for an hour on this issue and how to fix it. Zip ties or o rings required

This was absolutely the best value for Dyson quality! This is my second Dyson vacuum and the ease of operation, quality of product, service guarantee, etc; Dyson does not disappoint. If you are looking for a vacuum that actually cleans your home, Dyson is it!

I ordered this item without reading reviews due to the fact that my old Dyson has been the best vacuum ever!! I ordered this Dyson for our second home only to find out that you have to spend more $$ to purchase missing attachments!! And the quality is nothing close to the older Dyson we purchased! Don’t waste your money on this one!! My husband didn’t want to go through the hassle of trying to return it, so we just kept it and spent more money for attachments!! Wasn’t worth it to me!!

I would recomend this based on the vacuum itself. The vaccum itself does and excellet job. However the hose and pole extenstion are difficult to move and maneuver. Outstand job on picking up animal hair. The quality is seems durable so far. Having been using for 3 months. I would buy Dyson again.
