I am so sorry I never write poor reviews, but I'm disappointed that I've heard the original scent is going to be discontinued. If I'm wrong about it being discontinued I will update my review. I have been a lifelong user of Dawn Dish Soap, 45 yrs plus. The main reason I stuck to this brand was the original left almost no smell, and as a kid it was advertised as good for the birds during oil spill cleanup, so a better more natural way to clean. When you ate food off dishes the food smelled like food. This new version leaves a smell on my dishes and hands, now when I eat my food all I smell is the fragrance. I guess I'll be sticking with it's expensive alternative of apple, which has less of a lingering perfume smell. Or I may need to find a new dish soap. Really hoping they change their mind and continue to carry the original version too.

Unfortunately, the company has opted for a fragrance that can only be described as reminiscent of an old lady's perfume. This overpowering and outdated aroma lingers not only on your dishes but also throughout your kitchen, making the post-meal cleanup process less than pleasant. What was once a task met with neutral scents or even refreshing aromas now feels like a journey back in time to a perfume counter of the past, where such heavy, floral scents might have been more at home. This choice of fragrance significantly detracts from the user experience, overshadowing the soap's commendable cleaning capabilities. It's disheartening to see a brand renowned for its reliability take such a misstep in product development, prioritizing a scent that may not appeal to a wide range of consumers. Hopefully, Dawn will take this feedback to heart and consider reintroducing the classic, less intrusive scents that many have come to know and love, or at least offer a variety that caters to different preferences.

I've used dawn my whole life and never thought twice about it. It smelled like soap. I just bought a new refill size bottle and it has a horrible perfume smell. I seriously hope that it doesn't leave my dishes smelling like the soap because it's nauseating.

I don't remember a time I didn't use blue Dawn. However, the " new clean scent" is awful I am now looking for a new dishsoap. I couldn't even use the bottle I had because the smell is so unpleasant. Also tried the "fresh rain" and was equally disappointed. Not certain why the original was replaced as opposed to just releasing an additional scent option, but I have now wasted money on 2 bottles I can't use. Dawn does clean better in my opinion, but the new smell is too unpleasant too keep using it.

Sure, it costs a bit more, but I think it is worth it, Almost every dishwashing soap on the market has been watered down so I am using this as it is one of the few dish soaps out there that actually gives you suds that lasts a while. Just wish I could find it in larger bottles.

I’m not much of a “recommends products to people” type of guy, but one of the few exceptions has always been the dawn platinum for its genuinely superior cleaning ability—it’s something that I am very quick to mention to people and recommend over more expensive products or time intensive home-made cleaners. However. The new refreshing rain scent formulation has made it near impossible for me to keep the hand wash dishes clean in our house lately. The second I flip open the bottle, that pungent perfume makes my stomach churn, and if I was more than two dishes at a time, I unfailingly develop a headache. While I am *somewhat* sensitive to the scents of household products, I can usually just scrunch up my nose in distaste and power through it. The new formulation for the Refreshing Rain scent makes me feel physically ill, though. I’m so disappointed, too. I used to buy this scent because it *didn’t* bother me as much as the papaya or apple. Now I have paid for this huge bottle of soap that I do NOT want to use, which I wouldn’t have even bought if I’d known the scent had changed. If there was at least a sticker on the front or something on the label, I would have smelled it in the store and known to steer clear.

Dawn Ultra Platinum Dishwashing Liquid is my top dishwashing soap to get my pots and pans sparkling clean. It cuts out the grease and baking bits left behind without twice the work of me scrubbing dishes. I also use Dawn to bathe my rescue dogs, because it’s gentle. Dawn is tough and gentle. ;)

I am a loyal user of regular Dawn, I love it's grease cutting properties and it has been my favorite dish soap for many years. I recently purchased the Dawn Platinum refreshing rain scent. Although it cleans well, it has a horrible scent, I thought there was something moldy in the kitchen, it took me a while to realize it was the dish soap!

I got the refill size because of how good it is, not only is it very affordable but it lasts a long time thanks to it's concentrated formula. It removes all grease from the dishes very quick and if you leave it soaking with a little of water it helps to get anything stuck off the pans or dishes. The bottles are recyclable for anyone worried about the plastic, and by buying the refill size you can save a lot of plastic and help the planet.

Dawn cleans great, we all know it. They are the undisputed dish cleaning champion. However, I am here regarding the updated 'fresh scent'. It makes me sick. I do not buy Palmolive because of the smell. I thought I bought the wrong thing on accident because Dawn has a lovely clean smell and always has. Not anymore! I looked at the bottle to check, and sure enough they updated it and it's bad! I may have a sensitive nose, but I enjoy good smelling things plenty. This is NOT it. Please go back to the tried and true scent of Dawn. I'm literally gagging at the overpowering smell of this 'improvement'. Why yes! It is that bad. I will be finding a different brand unless they fix it. I cannot take the smell. Yuck!
