The edges seemed a little overcooked but honestly they added to the flavor and texture and really took this pound cake from good to great. The size is also great and would definitely lead me to purchase it as it is much larger than normal bakery pound cakes that you would purchase so it makes it perfect for feeding a larger family or crowd.

It has crusty, cracked top ( which every good pound cake has) and a dense buttery crumb. It is delicious served at room temperature, but it can easily be heated in the microwave. I received a free sample for my honest review. This was fate my daughter had just asked for strawberry shortcake for her birthday when I was given a chance to review the French Vanilla Pound Cake. I was dreading mess and time in the kitchen and this made the perfect slice of strawberry shortcake. This is a lighter crumbly version of the pound cake I think of and I liked that better. I sliced it put a simple strawberry syrup and sliced strawberries and topped with Members Mark Whipped Topping. Indulgence! Wonderful vanilla flavor not dry. This would be perfect sliced up for any occasion.
