I was very disappointed with this pound cake. The crust was thick and dry, and the cake inside was tasteless. It’s by far the worst purchase I’ve made from Sam’s bakery. I ended up throwing it away because no one would eat it, so it was a waste of money.

It was very attractively packaged and when opened, the vanilla aroma was very evident and very pleasing. The vanilla flavor was also strong but not overpowering. The texture was pleasing, however be both thought it was a bit dry, thus not as moist as it should have been. We both thought it was very good, and would have been even better with a touch of lemon flavoring, or perhaps lemon icing. It also would be excellent served with a topping of ice cream.

It's pleasantly light textured for a pound cake, while the crust is a little firmer but a wonderful bite. It's wonderful to eat on its own but would be great as a base for making something like a strawberry shortcake. I will definitely get this again.

It would be great along with strawberries %26 juice for a yummy dessert. It is a much bigger loaf than other pound cakes I purchase from other companies. The edges seemed a little overcooked but honestly they added to the flavor and texture and really took this pound cake from good to great. The size is also great and would definitely lead me to purchase it as it is much larger than normal bakery pound cakes that you would purchase so it makes it perfect for feeding a larger family or crowd.
