Dry, dry, dry. Extra juicy macerated berries and whipped cream might help but can’t disguise the crumbly texture. Waited for the classic rich, buttery, vanilla flavor to hit… never happened! Interesting wide range of positive and negative reviews and hate to say it but… Sorry Sam, little ol’ Sara Lee has actually got you beat on this one.

I was sorely disappointed with this! It tasted like cornbread. Sweet cornbread but cornbread nonetheless. And its texture is very dense. I used this for strawberry shortcake and it just didn't go well.

The French vanilla pound cake was delicious and moist. I read the reviews where some were dry, but I guess that whoever baked those, overcooked them! I would prefer a little more vanilla extract but the cake was a hit at my Easter dinner. I will be buying more and make sure to check that it’s not overcooked.

Dry. I didn't enjoy it at all. I am shocked at some of the 5 star reviews, did you all get a different cake than me? I would not repurchase this cake. Sams has a great bakery and this is the only item I have not enjoyed.

I purchased this loaf for my family. When I started cutting it up to serve, it was still fully raw in the center. Ended up being able to use 1/4 of it and having to toss the rest. Won't buy again because of that.
