In years past we've found TurboTax a relatively easy and smooth process. This year, though, TurboTax took us on a path (both of us watching each step) that double entered a bank's interest income which would have reduced our refund if we hadn't noticed it. Strangely, TT recognized one of the banking institutions but then did not offer it as a selection, so we had to enter it manually. Seeing it was much easier than importing the data, we did the same on the other institution for which we almost double-paid tax. TurboTax didn't even question that two interest incomes were identical in the institution and amount. Then, at the very end, we were guided through a process in which we paid for the TurboTax service (as usual) and ended on a page that made us believe that our tax returns had been filed. But when we tried to find the missing step to allow us to print a copy of the returns, we discovered they had not yet been filed. If we had left it when we thought we were done, we would could have double paid interest earned taxes and would have not yet actually filed! Maybe this should have been a one-star review considering the seriousness of these issues but it did save us a lot of time. It is also exceedingly tiresome to get upsell requests so many times.

My info from Quickbooks was messed up when sent over, and it made my income negative 16,000. I didn't notice at first and thought I had a refund for a minute. The basic turbo tax that we still have to pay for should still be user friendly. This year I was able to get customer service without paying for it though, and everyone was very helpful. Giving money to Musk and to El Slavadoran prisons is awful enough as it is, it shouldn't be this hard

Not my first time using TT and it was easy with some minor issues with 1099 integration. Had to type most in manually. Missing the option to plan ahead for taxes. Example. Why can't I use TT to review my taxes paid to date in December to determine if I may have to pay estimated taxes before the end of the year to avoid penalties? Would be a nice feature.

My 1099 were downloaded and I did some tax prep work and then signed off. When I resumed working on my taxes, Turbo Tax downloaded a 2nd copies of my 1099s. This seemed to cause confusion and some duplicate processing that then seems to have been ignored. Everything seems to have worked out but it is disconcerting.

1 star rating due to fraudulent advertising. Commercials stated "Free filing until 2/18" and included complicated submissions like mind. Yet, "free" always becomes $200+. So many additional fees tacked on right at the end. This year I really laughed at the mandatory $25 to send to my bank not a Klarna bank account.

The program did not take me back "to where I left off". I was constantly looped through the opportunity to purchase a more expensive service. Also, the instruction on how to fix a problem with my 1099-MISC form had directions to a portion of the form that had different nomenclature.

For some reason this years premium software is not acting like previous versions. During the checking status it did not pick up that one income was not included. This was caught after I had hit Efile so i had to amend my return because of it. I am not satisfied with this years version...

Turbotax definitely makes our lives easier. It's also nice to feel more "in control" of the process than just handing things over to an accountant. By knowing in advance what Turbotax is going to be asking, it's easy to keep accounts throughout the year. And this year, thank you, thank you, you ACTUALLY put the information for the SEP IRA on the main page so I didn't have to spend 20 minutes hunting for it.

no, worst year ever!!!! and all these extra fees without letting people know until the end is ridiculous. and I did more work wouldnt even electronically transmit after paying an unexspected $99.00. We wnt from free to 178.00 and it took me forever.!!!

Instructions prior to starting would be helpful for moving from a dvd product to online -- especially for updating from the previous year. I'd already entered info by hand. Info said you can download, but lose all your work. I did not re-enter all of my info. I don't like not having access to the worksheets and schedules easily during data input. And you cannot simply change a field on a form during the review process. A simple missed state id on a 1099b kept me from completing the review. I had to delete 1099s several times, leave parts of the form blank before the forms were auto corrected with the right state. I had several 1099 forms, but couldn't identity which form needed adjustment. Stating Schwab 1099b, doesn't identity anything when you have 5 Schwab 1099b forms to work with.
