It makes what could be a really painful, lengthy, challenging and frustrating experience, one we're required to do every year, and makes it relatively easy, less frustrating, and much less time-consuming. All at a reasonable price. I can't imagine doing taxes any other way.

I believe TurboTax is satisfactory. The reason why I’m giving three stars is because they consistently add fees when stating that the service is supposed to be free, so even when you start to check out, you start to see more fees accumulate over time, which is excessive. However, aside from this issue, the service is good because they do help you navigate the process, but they always seem to find ways to charge extra fees. That’s the only problem I have.

I've been doing my own taxes with TT for over 15 years. I am a teacher, self employed and my wife is a business manager. Every year when I sign in to do my taxes, TT has everything ready to go. Even with my business and multiple W2s its still pretty easy to do. The easy of getting more info about a particular deduction is great and TT always clarifies my question. I hope TT never changes their approach because I will be using it until I die!! haha

The process is relatively simple and easy for most people with basic taxes to follow. I like that TurboTax is able to jump to my investment accounts and download the necessary information where it belongs. The only issue I had with the government securities amount - I had the percent obtained but did not know whether to multiply that by the total dividends or just the ordinary dividends. A rep was able to resolve that for me quickly, but it would be nice just to have that noted specifically at that part of the form.

It was a functional service, but it was 95 steps when it needed to be 15 and a third of those was trying to sell me upgrades that I didn't need or showing me things that 'turbotax found' that would be found anyway. Streamline your service and stop preying on ignorant people.

**Review:** TurboTax should really be more transparent about fees upfront instead of waiting until the very end to add unexpected charges. Filing was average and fairly easy, but I don’t appreciate the dishonesty. I was told my state and federal fees would be deducted from my refund, but at the last step, I saw an additional charge for some reason. It feels misleading, and they should be clearer about costs from the start.

As far as work flow, turbotax makes it easy. But I'm tired of the constant ads. Almost every page is asking if I want to spend money with them. And they advertise as being free but after you've filed your first return, they don't provide a free option.

The software did what it said it would for the most part. The frustratinig part is there are lots of little question marks you can hover over or click on but they dont give you any specific information. It just opens a general Q&A box on the right side of the screen and even when you type in the question, it does not give you the infromation on that questions.

Benn using TT for my taxes for the past 5 years and its convenient, and easy to use. I paid an arm and leg at the other places for them to do them for me when I could have been doing them all along. When I was self employed the app really helped me keep track of expenses and receipts and I never had any issues filing or with my returns. Turbo tax is great and works well for my family's needs. Even if you are scared to do them yourself I promise they walk you through step by step, its not at all as scary as you think. They take the hard part out of doing your taxes.

I've used TurboTax for a while, keep coming back each year. The list of deductions that are available seem so comprehensive (even if I never need use to them, good have!). One thing that could be improved upon is the financial institution lookup. It seems like I'm entering 1099 information manually for at least 1 or 2 widely known institutions each year.
