I have used the Tax Act for the past several years, and it's always been very confusing. I've always felt it lacked options to enter pertinent information that could potentially lead to a larger return. I attempted Tax act this year and was underwhelmed with the refund. I tried Turbo tax this year and it felt so much more thorough and ended up allowing me to enter in more information which allowed an extra $1500 return compared to Tax Act. The questions Turbo tax asked allowed a much more accurate description of where our money was allocated and what should be refunded. I will be using Turbo Tax from now on.

Although I am a customer of +20 yrs this was the first time I used the online product, as opposed to downloading the program to my computer. The operating differences are a little disorienting, but the BIG difference is that at the end of the process TT will not let you e-file (!) because it says (incorrectly) that it has no record of you e-filing the year before. Took three calls to customer service to iron this out and save the time invested to that point. Turns out that if you used TT's desktop software last year, TT doesn't know that and it stops you cold.

I could not get form 2210 to be editable and the direction on the form were absolutely terrible. Make the form editable and need to provide more detail. Also asks for the owner to re-input data that was provided elsewhere. I had to basically pay for a service that didn't work. Now that I have the form, I can correct the data and input and send to the IRS. Not helpful this year.

Was told that if i filed through app that I wouldn't get a fee since I didn't file through the app. Tried every way I could and still couldn't get it for free. Also, lots of confusion on 1099s. Felt like I went through 5k verifications every time the page refreshed

I used TurboTax Premium for my tax preparation, and I couldn’t be more satisfied! The platform was incredibly intuitive and user-friendly, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Even for someone who isn't a tax expert, the step-by-step guidance ensured I didn’t miss any deductions or credits.

I found this years TT to b more dificult to navigate through the interview process. additionally it did not find my EFile info from 2023 tax year, I did Efile 2023 Tax YEAR SUCCESSFULLY with TT complete with emails etc.. there was not an option available to select on that page this. I have used TT for many years and found 2024 to be the least favorite!!!

It took us 7+ hours to complete our taxes. The RSUs we sold didn't import completely properly so that took time to go through and update & find the incorrect rows. The UX for that does not make it easy and it's very time consuming. When we got to the state taxes there was no option to upload or pull in the same RSU data from Federal to the State so those had to be manually entered. It wasn't until the end review that the State taxes were flagged because we missed 2 fields on the RSU data which should've been marked mandatory from the beginning if they were required so we had to go through all the lines AGAIN which means clicking each one open, edit & saving, onto the next. My W2 kept flagging saying there was an issue to review but there was no issue and we would have to constantly go back to "review" it so that the error would clear. Taxes are frustrating to begin with and this experience was a headache. If we sell stock again this year we will likely go to an accountant to handle it.

Extremely malicious and misleading, presenting optional consent forms for using your data to personalize your experience (selling to third parties), as mandatory, and hiding in small text that the consent forms are optional. Fees are also incredibly exorbitant. Sure, the website is convenient, but not $170 convenient. I would much rather do this myself and save my money. I only finished filing this year because they already have my information from their malicious consent forms. After I revoke my consent, I will never be using this service again.

I have used TurboTax for years and as always the experience is straight forward and the customer is guided through every aspect of preparing your taxes, especially the interest and dividend portions of income. Never needed to use the live tax helpline yet, but I'm sure its very useful.

Last year we paid a cpa over $1000 to do our taxes. This is much simpler and less work for us to just load in the numbers and get it done in less than 2 hours. Works great and we will never use a high priced cpa again. Thanks much for the service. Nice to know you can do it at home and it really isn't that complicated. Just load in the numbers and get it done.
