I have been using TurboTax for many years. They take you through everything step by step so you're not confused. If you do have some sort of problem, they walk you through fixing it. Myself and my family members will continue to use this software forever.

While having a sync with your financial providers feature, it consistently gets things wrong. Why even have the feature when I have to go back in and manually enter everything myself anyway? Turbo tax does not seem to understand how to parse ESP correctly. Everything was screwed up when I tried to do it the automated way forcing me to call support, delete EVERYTHING and then just manually put in all the information. At this point, the only added benefit TurboTax provides is for me not to have to print out and mail the forms myself.

I enjoyed the simplicity of this service. It made my tax filing experience super easy and quick. I've filed with other services in the past, so I'm familiar with the online filing process. However, TurboTax really shined with the insights and 'Learn More' options that helped clarify any questions I had about specific line items and how I should input information. I deducted a star because of the fees associated with filing. Since I have self employment income, I had no choice but to upgrade to the Premium option for both Federal and State. They offered the option to pay with refund, which is great but that added on a $40 fee. Then to get the refund early, there's another $25 fee. They wouldn't allow me to link my Credit Karma account for the $0 fee option so that's a bummer. Other than the high fees, the service was great.

I have always used the deluxe turbo tax. Been doing this for over 10 years. Turbo Tax will not file my claim unless I upgrade to a premium service. Makes no sense really, it's just paperwork. I will be doing without turbo tax after this year. The advertisement gives a false impression of this company now.

TurboTax gets more confusing every year. The explanation of how my HSA impacts my taxes was extremely hard to understand and leaves me really worried about my return. Not being able to easily find the files that TurboTax generates on my behalf and review them is also extremely stressful. I remember TurboTax being a significantly higher quality product in 2016 and am wondering if the product designers from back then should be re-hired if they have left the company. I feel like it's also pretty insulting that I'm paying $200 for a product that enables me to pay the government even more money.

While the tax information is very helpful and "help" buttons are great resource of tax knowledge, there were so many times that I was stopped to add extra services after I had already declined them multiple times. While paying for service, at the last possible moment, one is informed of the processing fee if you choose to pay Turbo Tax with your refund. There were also multiple times that Turbo Tax gives you no other option than to accept that Turbo Tax's use of your personal information for their business purposes. Giving the client not other option but to consent to Turbo Tax's to use personal customer information. At this point it feels like a customer is paying for the tax service with money AND their own personal information.

I have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years and find it very easy to use. This year I purchased an electric car and had some trouble finding the form to report the tax incentive that I gave to the seller. You could make that easy to understand. Because of that it took me longer than usual to finish my tax return.

I used to pay $350 for someone to do my taxes because I didn't know how to do it myself. I gave Turbo Tax a try a few years ago and never looked back. It is much cheaper, easier, and I don't have to schedule an appt with a tax person around my busy motherhood schedule. It usually takes me about an hour to complete it because I fill it out for both my spouse and I, but it saves your information and allows you to return at any time to finish if you need to step away.

Overall, we have had a very positive experience filing with TurboTax for many years. The directions are easy to follow, and the format no longer keeps interrupting us with requests to use your other products. Phone support helped us remember to clear our cache when we had freezing issues. Other phone support explained the terms of "free filing" when it was not apparent on the Intuit early deadline filing notice on the home page.

Overall I'm satisfied with the product. My only issue this year was the downloaded 1099 R for an IRA withdrawal had to be manually edited. The amounts and boxes were correct, but the Payer address was different. Also the price seems quite high for the Premium product. I've been a customer for over 15 years. It would be nice to get a loyalty discount.
