I constantly feel like I'm being pushed products for relatively simple/underwhelming tax software, and part of me thinks that if I pay more ill get more for my return which isn't necessarily advertised but its how it feels. I only use the product because it integrates with my employer

I use to be so confused and afraid of filing my own taxes. I've been using Turbotax to file, on my own now, for 4 years & I get more confident and excited to file every year!! Not only is Turbotax convienient, quick and super easy to use, I really love how much they explain every little detail. I've really learned alot just from the way they take you through the process, but if I ever need more help there are live agents available 24/7 and they are super helpful! I recommend Turbotax to all my family and friends, because I am sure they will get the best refund possible, at a very little cost! Best part is it's absolutely free to try, nothing is charged or finalized untill you submit your refund & you even have the option to pay the fees upfront, or have them taken from your refund later!! Long time user. It seems slightly more complicated than earlier years but then so is my tax situation. Can be very useful in combination with Coinledger, just follow the directions closely (sometimes the screenshots aren't exactly the same but if I can, you can). It isn't necessarily cheap but again it is helpful and there are multiple payment options.

If I could give you guys a "0" star rating I would. It's easy to run through the tax prep, but what I hate about TurboTax are the hidden fees. First we are constantly offered to "upgrade" our tax package. When you get to the end, that's where the fees start piling on. An added fee to deduct the cost of filing from my Fed return? $40. A fee to get my funds 5 days early? $25, and that "courtesy" comes with having to accept the release of personal information! You can't skip THAT. I could on the previous 2 requests to share my info with Intuit and "other" entities and companies. What a joke! I understand you have to make your money, but you're making it off the backs of hard working people who THINK Turbo is the way to go to file taxes. You USED to be the cheapest, not any more. Oh, and don't be fooled. OPEN all the disclaimers, all the places they ask you to sign, or when you see the box "DECLINE" - choose "decline" to protect your privacy. Gotta hand it to ya, Intuit, you SUCK.

I do find the software quite easy and convenient to use, but the price is a bit steep considering that filing taxes can be done for free with a bit of research and time for how to do it right. And it's annoying how they are CONSTANTLY trying to persuade me to use the even more expensive TurboTax options. But it is very convenient.

TurboTax charges just too much, and now they added $40 processing fee just for taking payments from your federal returns. That forced me use alternative option, which require paying upfront, when I am a little cash strapped. I am now looking for a new software for next year tax returns, I am now done with TurboTax. Such a shame, loved the service, but the expenses just too much for a filer that filed taxes without any assistance.

I much prefer desktop Turbo Tax to the online version. Even with three hours help, your techs and I couldn't get it installed, so I defaulted to the online version. Not being able to review forms as you go along annoys me. If the 2025 desktop edition won't install on my computer, I'll be looking elsewhere for my tax package.

Easy to use have used for many years. Only problem was for the state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin allows medicare medical insurance premiums to be deducted on the WI return. Your software did not transfer the Medicare premium from the federal return and I had to add under the "unemployed box" for the medical premiums. I hope it goes through OK.

Charging me DOUBLE because I have a Robinhood account is not cool. Also, it takes twice as long as it should to fill out all the forms and file, because your software is constantly trying to UPSELL me to "Max" and other products I don't want. I said "NO" the first time, stop wasting my time. Might try HR Block or TaxSlayer next year because of these two problems.
