Very disappointed this year. There is a glitch in the program where I cannot edit "Number of Days Personal Use" on my short term rental. it should be zero but I had mistakenly entered 365 because I thought it was asking how many days I lived in the house. By the time I got to the end of the program, it threw an error because number of days rented was 365 adn nubmer of days for personal use was also 365. It was impossible to change. I tried to delete everything and start again but Turbo tax would let me do that because I had already paid for the software

Tax Helper was good but required many attempts to get information added. A clitch in the system required a remedy not available. Later text contradictory. Pages seen to conflict with what has transpired. Told me- You had forms transferred from last year that you did not use. Poor wording “forms transferred from last year” What? Last year was 2024 and of course I used last year’s interest forms and Dividend forms but Turbo tax somehow used that data automatically to complete the form for INT and DIV But Turbo tax says “You have forms that transferred from last year that you did not use. If these forms do not apply for this tax year, we will remove them to simplify e-filing. Let us know if these forms apply to your 2024 tax return.” Then asks “Let us know if these forms apply to your 2024 tax return. Do You Still Need These Forms? I assume I am suppose to remove forms now but that is not an intuitive thing because the page above states “You have forms that transferred from last year that you did not use. If these forms do not apply for this tax year, we will remove them to simplify e-filing. I spent hours figuring out why it would not give me the deduction for rolling over my ibond interest into a 529 plan. Turns out by MAGI was too high, but I could not find that anywhere. It just said I didn't qualify. Giving reasons would be very helpful.

I didn't want to go with the Premium package. I just wanted to go with the minimum cost and it charged me $148 with tax. My standard deduction was more than my taxable income. there was no explanation as to why it charged me so much. I would not have filed my taxes this way if I had realized the charges.

I woukd give no stars because I did my own taxes with no help. And then when the federal rejects it because I had a few zeros in a column you all charge me $128 to do my taxes. Which is a rip off cause you didn't even help me fix the problem I did it myself....do not use these scammers

Easy to use product for moderately complicated tax return. I used a CPA in the past, and while that worked out well, it costs considerably more than the basic Turbo Tax service. And the CPA basically asked the same questions as Turbo Tax does. I suppose the CPA may have knowledge of the trickier problems, but I've never had a problem.

being forced to pay almost $200 just because part of my income is self employed is crazy and inconsistent with the services provided. Turbo tax doesn't cover anything if I get audited or accidentally enter the wrong info, i do. you went from free to almost $200 for 1 minute of extra questions

Experience with TurboTax has been great. I have been filing with them for multiple years and the guides are helpful. If I make a mistake (which I do frequently), it is caught before submitting. The price is reasonable, granted I use the basic version where I do things myself, and I can use part of my federal refund to pay the fee so my credit card information is not necessary. 10/10 would recommend.

TurboTax is good. BUT you need to make it easier to file a NON-RESIDENT California state return (or any state for that matter). Complicating matters was that I am working in a foreign country not another US state. The instructions on what steps or process to take to have the CA Form 540 NR be used are not clear. There needs to be better drop downs, better questions from TurboTax about your residency, etc. while initially filling in your personal/tax information. I poked around and changed things for an hour to finally get the NR tax return to populate.
