took about 4hours to get everything entered, double checked and verify return. hiccup in the nyc long term care expenses, says if entered in federal not needed. but filed for standard deductions and state not reflect the it201att long term care credit. So had to go back and enter expense in nys and remove from medical expenses in federal. Software should be smart enough to know expenses were entered in both state and federal steps.

TurboTax is the simplest tax software I ever used. I have been using this software for over a decade and cannot see myself preparing returns any other way. All of there software programs are easy to use and I love the way things are broken down for you in layman's terms. I am currently using Quickbooks and taking advantage of their bookkeeper training as well as using Credit Karma Money Spend for my finances. I highly recommend all of their products, they have made my life so much easier!

Turbotax seems to get confused over some things it should find very easy. Such as being able to read and interpret a Fidelity tax form. Fidelity isn't exactly a fringe company, it is one of the biggest financial groups in the world, why does Turbotax need me to spend an hour helping it understand the forms that are digitally transmitted? Plus, Turbotax tries to sneak in a LOT of hidden fees, by trying to make them look required by law and official. All this for an automated tool that costs over $100 to use, every time you use it. Still, easier than the hassle of doing it myself.

Unnecessarily expensive if you consider the fact that you have to enter most of the information manually after the TT software fills it out incorrectly. I ALWAYS have issues with my 1099-B not being uploaded correctly. You can use FreeTaxUSA for FREE and it's much easier to use.

I have been using TurboTax for years. This was the first year I hated it. Always stopping you to upgrade. It was hard to just go sections to section the system went over sections multiple times. Would not recommend unless your information is already in Turbo tax.

The way TT made me enter rental income was different this year. Very confusing and I did not like it as well as last year. Also, I could not figure out how not to file KS electronically. You did not have a a form in your system that KS requires so I have to file it manually. This will probably screw up getting my refund.

TurboTax has been my choice for many years. For uncomplicated, or even mildly complex tax situations, TurboTax walks you through the steps and makes the process easy and intuitive. I notice that the process changes slightly from year to year, to streamline entries. This year I ran into an unusual situation, and the Customer Service person spent considerable time helping sort this out.

There were a few glitches in the system and at times it was difficult. The chatbot is pretty useless, but when I inquired about calling, I was given the option for a callback. This was fabulous and the folks were just wonderful. I did not have to pay for Turbo Tax due to my difficulties in using the program, but everything was fixed and worked fine in the end.
