Very Dissatisfied Customer

I have used Turbo Tax for years and have always been satisfied with it, until this year. I had problems with the software - I was unable to edit the data. The AI assist was completely useless. The screens on the sale of a house were poorly designed and very difficult to follow. Even the review of the data was difficult. This "new" version of turbo tax was unacceptable, and I'll not be using it again.

Turbo Tax is Very Reliable

Turbo Tax is easy to use. The program walks you through all the steps in calculating and filing your taxes. Turbo Tax also provides various levels of support based on your needs. I have done my federal taxes for several years and feel really confident in the process and security this program provides. You can trust Turbo Tax.

Overall Turbotax is a good product

Overall Turbotax is a good product. I find it a little concerning that different sections have a different feel in that information is entered in different ways or some of the selections are different. It makes it seem that different teams put together different sections.

TurboHeadache

I’ve never experienced a piece of software so determined to make the simplest tax return feel like an advanced calculus exam. From the frustrating user interface that hides important options behind a maze of unnecessary steps, to the suspiciously insistent add-ons that make you feel like you’re getting conned, TurboTax manages to disappoint on every level. Not only does the program constantly interrupt you to buy more “upgrades” (which ends up costing way more than you’d expect), but its so-called “help” sections often feel about as useful as random internet pop-ups—cluttered, vague, and borderline condescending. When you do try to track down a real, helpful answer, you’ll end up digging through an endless FAQ labyrinth that never quite addresses your actual question. What’s worse, the application has a knack for freezing or crashing right when you’re almost done, forcing you to painstakingly re-enter all your information. And if, by some small miracle, you manage to wrestle your forms and numbers into submission, the final fees and charges come at you like a hidden tax (ironic, right?). Overall, TurboTax manages to transform an already stressful task into an infuriating fiasco. I’d gladly dig out an old typewriter and file by carrier pigeon if it meant never having to wrestle with this program again. If TurboTax is your only option, you might want to start budgeting for aspirin and therapy sessions—because you’re definitely going to need them.

Easiest

Would love if once I got to the end, it told me whether it was better to itemize or take standard deduction. As a single person, it is easy enough for my to submit my forms and process them. Would also love if different aspects were better explained to me on why I might choose to enter a different number than I put.

helpful info

i was disappointed that the format was changed from previous years. It was very helpful to me to see last years return entries so that I could compare those numbers with the current year numbers. It also would remind me if there were some forms missing from any financial institutions that I should enter.

Disappointed this year!

NOT happy that my returns can't be E-filed due to business forms or something not being able to be sent via E-File.... No notice of this until AFTER I paid for the service... If I would have known that, I probably wouldn't have used Turbo Tax, so I'm kind of annoyed. As a small business owner, I need less stress in my life, NOT more.

Paying Intuit For the Privilege of Paying Taxes

It's disgusting that I need to pay a private vendor like Intuit to file my taxes, and they actively lobby against free file options managed by the government being made available to everyone. I hope that I live to see a future where TurboTax doesn't exist.

Will not end up being free for most

I am sick of companies lying about free benefits and attempting to steal money by multiple hidden costs. I was completing my entire return under "free tax return" and it added 128 dollars of fees prior to filing my return. Be honest about your fees, and be better.

Never Again

LAST TIME I use Turbo Tax. What a rip off, I paid $39 dollars and filed. My form was rejected because of a missing marketplace form. After fixing that and going to refile Turbo Tax says I have to pay for Premium now because of some business form. The form was filed originally! It was not added on. So you let me file the form the first time but on the refile you force me to pay more? Never again...
