I've been using TurboTax online for many, many years. Two suggestions regarding the State Tax Preparation Section: (1) It would be so much more efficient to be able to jump around the various categories, the way you can on the Federal portion; and (2) If an area is pre-filled, it would really help to jump back to the entry from which the pre-filled amount was generated.

You have a history of lobbying against making it easier for us to file our taxes for free. Everyone should Google "TurboTax ProPublica." That said, you also consistently try to trick users into accidentally clicking to purchase an upgraded and more expensive TurboTax product. This happened to me, and I realized the mistake as soon as the page changed, but there was no way to go back and cancel the upgrade (there had been no request for a confirmation pop up asking if I was sure I wanted to upgrade my purchase). Intuit is an immoral company. This is my last year using TurboTax.

The screen that handles pension payments is confusing because it refers to RMD and i have never thought of a RMD associated with a pension. I guess there are pensions where RMD's exist but I'm not familiar with any. Confusing wording on the screen. You customer service guy and i tried different answers and finally got through the screen without entering a RMD

Generally speaking it's great. It makes the tax return process far easier and less painful than it would otherwise be. There is some room for improvement though. Sometimes you are sent to forms to fill out and there is no explanation for why and how to fill out the form. This is really essential to make the process as painless as possible and to have confidence you're filing the tax return properly. Don't send users to pages to fill out forms they have no idea how to deal with.

Looked and Looked to learn what Annualized income meant for line 1 on the Michigan underpayment form was. It wouldn't accept any amt I put in then finally added more to my Michigan taxes due. I decided to just leave it since it already spent 13 hours on it. Also in years past, it was nice to see the refund or tax due change in the top line of the site but it wasn't there this year. Only showed up during the review stage. Not nice!

I think the service is okay. I ended up having to pay 188 to do my own taxes. I basically entered personal info and 5 forms. Since one of those forms was a Trust 1041 I had to pay even more. 5 forms 188 dollars and my time. I would probably rather pay my normal guy to do them for me. I consider my taxes to be fairly basic in comparison to what they used tom be. Just feel it was a little more expensive than it needed to be.

Very self explanatory and very easy to do. I recommend everyone to do on their own and if you need help turbo tax has help to help you with any questions or concerns you have. Also if for some reason you need to stop filing the good thing is that it automatically saves your info at where you stopped at and that's awesome bcuz it took me like three or four days to finish.

too many errors in importing data and entries "needing review", even though all the info was provided on the forms. It's also confusing and to figure out what info is missing and enter it. incorrectly imported my PDF from Apex Clearing, even though I later found a way to import directly from Apex Clearing by entering my account number and the Payer ID, which obtained the correct info. TT should guide me toward the most reliable import method. There's not enough visibility into the crypto cost basis calculation, and it did not process my LTC to BTC trades from Gemini, so I had to manually input summary entries from Gemini's gain/loss form, which TT's form is not designed for: I had to manually add up the currency amounts for the asset descriptions, and it demands a single disposal date, even though there are multiple. PA state return had weird questions and forms, as always. Foremost, it wouldn't let me file until I picked an entry on a worksheet from a list of school districts in a far-off county. It also asked for acquired and disposed dates for a Kraken sale, even though TT has that info from the tx history import.

its become a bit cumbersome to use your software and you keep pushing your marketing add-ons which is becoming way too old. I was asked at least 6 or 7 times throughout processing my return if I wanted to add on additional services like "MAX" and other stuff. stop pushing so hard for extra services,, it gets old after a while!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good product, terrible fees. Your return is essentially held hostage unless you agree. Can you opt to not use the product and back out? Yes. But they know the likelihood of you doing so is pretty slim and make sure to exploit it by "feeing you to death". Almost $200 to use online software and process a payment is insane.
