The only thing I dont like about TurboTax is that they tend to add extra fees that look like they are required but they are not. Example at the refund state there are initially 2 options presented either a free "Chime" debit card or a $40 upcharge for the expedited federal filing to your existing bank account. Click no and you have the standard refund options that have always been there. Also if you pick the wrong product at the onset there is no way to downgrade the product to the one that will fit your needs. but they have been sued in the past for this practice. It is not that much of an issue for me as of this year I had some left over procedural junk from last year and closing my business. However if they do that next year when all I have is standard 1040 with standard deductions. But that is for next year to worry about.

Overall, it was a good experience. Unlike the desktop application, I didn't notice the estimated refund information until late in the progress. I don't know if it showed up earlier--if it did, I did not see it. I don't know if by doing this this year, I am now stuck with doing this online in the future as there was no data file to download. I'm surprised the app let me submit my return after telling me some information was not available. This is a very irritating review to write as it seems to autocorrect incorrectly as I go.

It was really confusing when you were giving me a deduction of the Qualified Business income. I didn't have any business income as far as I knew. It would have been helpful if you would have called out that you can get this if you have information in Box 5 of a 1099-DIV form. I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure that one out.

I did chat with an expert to get an error check. She was very helpful and efficient. They features of Turbo Tax are amazing, how they can connect with your financial institutions, and upload your documents. There were a couple of institutions not listed, but it allowed me to request that they be added. This was my first year, and I will definitely be back next year!

I have used TurboTax for many years. This is the MOST DIFFICULT to use version I have encountered. It was difficult to know whether the info was on my computer or just on line. Also, I was continually bombarded with attempts to get me to purchase a product or products I did no want. That aggressive marketing was way over the top and annoying. If it is like that next year, I probably will switch to a different product. I did not appreciate it.

Between itemizing deductions, charitable contributions, childcare expenses, depreciation questions, and income coming from multiple sources, the software consistently asked the right questions and explained why it needed the information, not just what to enter. What I appreciate most is that TurboTax doesn’t assume a one-size-fits-all filer. It caught nuances that are easy to miss (caregiver rules, nonprofit-related expenses, deductions that apply even when itemizing) and flagged potential issues before they became mistakes. The explanations were clear enough that I felt informed, not panicked, which is saying something during tax season. It’s not just data entry; it actually feels like guided decision-making. For anyone with more than a basic W-2, especially families, nonprofit leaders, or people juggling real life, TurboTax is worth it. It is compatible and user-friendly.

I’ve been using TurboTax for about a decade, and I like that I can file on my own and keep my and my child’s information private. The platform is easy to use, which is why I’ve continued to use it. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more mindful of fees. It only recently dawned on me why my return was never actually free to file, but the jump to a $99 fee at the end still feels unexpected, especially when no upgrades were selected. Better pricing transparency would make a big difference. That said, I will continue to file through TurboTax because the costs are not the issue.

I'm pretty disappointed I couldn't file my state taxes on this, the website kept getting stuck in a loop on one particular page so I ended up having to mail to return. I feel like I shouldn't be charged until after I learned that I would have to end up mailing the return.

It is absurd that Turbotax is charging $99 to file your taxes. That is a tough pill to swallow, however, the most insulting part of it they want to charge you $40 dollars to pay for it with your return and an additional $35 to deposit it into your bank account. I have used Turbotax since 2016. I would rather pay $175+ to someone in person to file my taxes, an that is what I will do next year. What a scam.
