At least seven (7) different times the software was glitching. I had to go back and keep searching to enter estimated tax payments, social security income, etc. Suggestion is to START the software with a recommendation for JOINT Senior returns USING THE STANDARD DEDUCTION.....stop wasting time going through needless possible deductions.

Turbotax works well for us. This year, there was confusion caused by the fact that we had 2 1009-R forms from the same payer (two separate accounts). They didn't combine, and the review indicated we had a potential duplicate. There was no way for me to confirm it as correct and eliminate the "REVIEW" notification for that portion of the return.

TurboTax charges just too much, and now they added $40 processing fee just for taking payments from your federal returns. That forced me use alternative option, which require paying upfront, when I am a little cash strapped. I am now looking for a new software for next year tax returns, I am now done with TurboTax. Such a shame, loved the service, but the expenses just too much for a filer that filed taxes without any assistance.

Been using Turbo Tax for many years and I have never had a problem with the government since then. That's said, when a hitch comes up while entering info, they don't explain the problem well. They do offer help via telephone, but this year they said that to ask for help via telephone you have to call using their phone app. I think you can do it via desktop, but I couldn't find it. However, it was eventually done and I was able to e-file. The people on the phone were very nice, even though it was 11pm!

way too expensive. the user is doing a lot of work on their own. it used to be cheaper than going to an accountant. now, its just as expensive if not more! $230 for fed and state! And my taxes are EASY. One W-2, 2 1099s. No home ownership, no kids/dependents. Married, filing sep, etc. It took me 30 min. Next year I will use an accountant - probably cheaper and no work for me.

Overall quite easy to use. However, it regressed into a continuous loop when I finished with state returns and it kept wanting me to review only to show the page for a second state. I finally had to just go on to "file" to get out of it.....very confusing. Also, I still find it difficult to navigate to one particular part of my filing such as a specific 1099-INT I needed to adjust; it forces you to start up at the top of all those INT entries. I also found it confusing on how it identified a block I needed to fill but didn't take me to that page; rather, it just shows one place to enter the number. I really needed to go back to the entire form or entry page again to understand better what was needed.

Unnecessary charges. Claims to be free service but then charges you $129 for premium when it tells you it’s only $89 and then adds another $40 processing fee at the end. TurboTax took $169 of my hard earned money for no reason. I did all of the work myself.

I have used Turbotax over multiple years without much of an issue, however this year, many of the questions or references to specific lines on tax documents were either incorrect of not specified. I'm sure this is so I would upgrade and pay more money for the tax help that I haven't required ever before. It has officially gotten as expensive as paying an accountant to take care of it for me which is what I will be doing next year. Same cost minus the headache. Turbotax has turned into a money grab.
