I have been a die-hard fan and customer of TurboTax for many years. I have always found it to be very intuitive and thus easy to understand and use. However, that's not the case this year. The way requests for certain data fields were made was more than a little confusing at times. I am neither an accountant nor CPA, although I wish I were, as the process would have progressed more smoothly and faster with a higher degree of confidence in my answers. Will I continue to use TurboTab? Yes. I'm in my 70's, and old habits die hard.

This version of TurboTax was much more difficult to use than what I m used to. Some fairly common deductions (i.e. sales tax; estimated payments) were very well hidden and not prompted. The menu of institutional forms that would import is much more limited than before. It is much more difficult to navigate.

After entering all information, including bank account numbers, the system looped through the same review 3 more times; seems it didn't like me not releasing my information to their bank. I prepared taxes for over 40 years using professional software - Turbo Tax took twice as long. Now that I'm retired, I had to find a "simple" solution to filing. This is good for those not familiar with tax prep.

Price gouging everywhere you turn. Not only have they taken away every free option, but now in addition to the cost of filing federal, it costs to file state. Remember how you used to be able to pay your filing fees out of your refund? Now that costs $40! If you don't want to pay that $40, you have to pay now upfront with a credit card. It also now costs $35 just to have your money direct deposited, unless you want to sign up for a Credit Karma checking account that you don't want. I can handle a fee for using the product, I get it. They're providing a service. But seriously? TurboTax, we've been in a relationship for 13 years. But I think it's time for us to break up.

I have used TurboTax for years and loved the ease of moving from one page or subject to another. This new version is NOT intuitive and I do not like it. Next year I may look for another product to file my tax. Why did you try to "fix" something that was not broke?????

I used to dread doing my taxes every year since I was a die-hard paper tax filer. When I tried TurboTax for a friend of mine and did his taxes online, I was sold on the ease of filing and decided to try it for my own taxes. I know my tax return is accurately done, the program is compatible with my Windows 10 desktop, and the support is just a click away. I like the one question at a time interface. I do not feel overwhelmed when filling in the form. This is what sold me on using TurboTax. I like the fact that the program has features that help make sure you get the best deductions and the greatest returns.

I had significant trouble finding the Federal and State summaries of key tax data including the total and adjusted income data, list of deductions applied, taxable income, tax due. Please make this EASY to tag into, thank you. Otherwise, it is easy to use.

Format is easy to file. I ran into a few glitches regarding uploading some documents and verifying the information. I had to correct some information from a 1099. It may have been the way the issuer prepared the form and not the ay TurboTax 'read' the form. Just be alert and verify all the information..

in the income are I almost missed my jury duty income - this is a common occurrence I would think and one of the early income questions should ask if you served on a jury and got paid. other areas were hard to follow without seeing a summary of detail behind income especially. also - you need to include the worksheet for qualified dividends and capital tax calculations. this comes with printouts available in taxact I had t do it by hand to make sure the tax calculations were right. Also I did not like that I had to pay in order to see even a draft of my completed 1040. I normally use taxact - and this feature was there - the forms had DRAFT on watermarked on them.

I lucked up and China called me. She was absolutely fantastic! Patient, kind, respectful and knowledgeable about taxes. I felt seen and heard, She was actively listening to me and stayed on the phone after your office had closed. Her support was greatly needed and received. What got on my nerves was the pettiness that Turbo insisted on wasting my time with like a nickname, and repeatedly being asked the exact same questions over and over. I only have one name and one nick name and that's Jackie. Of course someone else has that nick name but not on my tax form they do not!
