I felt disconnected without the ability to go between the narrative and the actual forms. If this is incorrect, then my comment is that the ability to go back and forth was not obvious to me. Also I used TT for all of my returns, including the previous for tax year 2024 yet TT seemed to have no record of this.

There were some confusing parts but other parts gave good explanations to help get through. This was the first time doing it online and, after a few questions, it went very smoothly. I'm always nervous that I didn't understand something or answered a question wrong, but TurboTax helps me feel more confident.

Using online for the first time, found it irritating that every time I stepped away from my computer I had to re-log on. Also while going through forms in the print center TurboTax just arbitrarily closed down and I had to resign on...its like the program doesn't know I'm online if I'm in the Print Center.

Make this easier to preview before filing. I had a CPA review my self-filing documents and there was no easy way for me to show them how I filled out everything so far. The price point is also expensive for federal returns and CPAs are now charging a comparable fee to file it for you. I may consider going with a CPA in the future based on the rates.

Intuit has had so many years to make the software work properly but items such as foreign dividend income/expenses don't automatically flow through all the relevant forms and I have to manually input the locations of where numbers are on the tax return. Additionally we couldn't claim excess social security contributions from our employer without having to file a form 843 outside of turbo tax. Can't directly edit the forms to input this info even though Turbotax correctly identified too much was withheld. Frustrating experience.

TurboTax was easy and convenient to use, and the overall experience was good. The problem came at the final payment step. It automatically put me into the version with Expert Assist, which I did not need, and it cost about $100 more. I did not realize this was the default option. I had to figure out by myself that I could downgrade, and then find how to switch to the version without assistance. That part felt misleading and somewhat like spam. TurboTax should make the price options much clearer and should not default users into a more expensive version.

Most everything is really good with turbo tax. Support for investment fixes could be better. The Bulk Edit feature doesn't work the best. One should be able to check all and it should come up with a table where corrections can be made rather than requiring Edit for each item separately.

More glitchy and confusing than Turbo Tax has ever been before. I was honestly surprised by how difficult it was this year, and I have been using Turbo Tax for a very long time. I feel like it would have been easier and faster if I had just done it myself (which I know how to do, but was hoping for the "quick" method).

The review process for crypto transactions is atrociously slow and can't really be done in bulk. I had to create a script to process them all one at a time to make the same selections. Even just typing this review out is bugged as it keeps switching review topics and undoing some of the text I type.

More complicated than ever before. Keeps bringing up the wrong results, had us scratching our heads trying to figure out how to navigate back and forth. Then they bombard you with the up-sell, hey do you want to spend more to get extra help? I suspect that is the sole reason they made it more complex so you give in and pay the extra for an 'expert' to guide you through.
