Simple and Easy

The updates to the software in the last couple years made filing with TT even easier. There was one page concerning the HSA that was confusing and there were no help topics available. That does need attention. It was a required page but I didn't know what it was or why I had to complete it. There was also one item that uploaded/transferred inaccurately and I had to correct it - the Control Number. Other than that, everything went smoothly. It would be nice if deductions were explained more. For instance, I entered in the amount I gave in donations but I didn't receive any information about what each selection meant.

Sooo much work this year

I have used Turbo Tax for many years but this is BY FAR the most trouble I have had using it. I don't know if it's different because I had to log in to a website instead of using a disk, but I didn't like it. For one thing, I didn't know the IRS was charging me $75 for non-payment of taxes during the year; I only found this out from Turbo Tax but repeatedly looking through the information I entered and happening upon it. It was a difficult process to delete this, too. I also don't think Turbo Tax handled self-employment health insurance deductions correctly.

A good experience

Very convenient and quick to have last year's information available. It was reasonably fast this year overall. I did get a little annoyed that the medical expenses deduction would not go away until I filled all the boxes with zeros. Also, it would have been useful to be asked about all the uncommon situations. I paid estimated taxes but was not asked about it. So the refund was "tax due" until I found the estimated payments at the end of a long list. Overall, a good experience.

Long term clients treated poorly

I hated almost every moment of using this program. Your support team was on little assistance. I wonder if the main goal of your company is to assist with filing returns or finding as many was as possible to upsell at every turn. I would provide details but that would create even more wasted time that I've already spent.

Too many up sell windows and short on error detail

Very annoying screens that seem to come up constantly to up sell more services - maybe once at the start and once at the end, but not several times while entering information. Also, I spent hours trying to fix one tiny error on a three choice check box selection for my stock sales, with the error message so vague it was impossible to determine the error - if an error is found, then PLEASE be specific on what the error is. There were four separate sales with multiple acquisition and cost basis amounts on each sales date, yet the message couldn't even tell me which one of the sales blocks had the error. Not sure I would use Turbo Tax online version going forward.

Cheapest Tax Return method yet

I like I could just take pictures of forms from last year and my forms to send in this year, and did not have to manually enter all the information. The biggest downside is this took me over 3 days to complete my taxes. Not sure I will ever do this again, but next year should be easier and faster since all my information will be on. Turbo Tax.

The worst version to exist

Turbo tax has become the worse version it hs ever been. After this year I do not plan to reuse the service ever again. The prices are not accurate, you force upgrades that users can't get out of, you input false information on my return delaying me by over a month for files that do not exist. The worst experience I have ever had in my 5 years of service with turbo tax. I will never recommend your service to my friends and family again

Gacha Game in a Financial Application

Do not like the online format. Do not like the constant pushing to purchase upgrades and services from Intuit. Feels like it's part gacha game in a financial application. Felt like Intuit was trying to trick me through the entire process to spend more money on them. Preferred the desktop version when it worked on Windows 10. Online version is unjustifiably much more expensive than desktop version and also tries to push you down their preferred lanes to spend even more money on them. They have lost my trust. Very unlikely to use Turbo Tax next year.

A Very Different Experience This Year!

This is the first year I've used TurboTax through MetLife Insurance access. It's way different than using an online download of the app. It lacks the ability to check forms, consult an expert (without adding a lot of cost), and accessing information in general. I've used TT for a very long time. It feels a bit naked not to have access to the actual app. But I have had messages from both MetLife and TT in response to my questions. Questions I had finally found answers to before getting their replies. This is literally the first year in many that I haven't been able to speak with someone at TT for help. Last year, there was a computational error in my return prepared by TT. Fortunately, it turned out to be in my favor, but there is a different number on file with the IRS due to the correction, but I couldn't figure out how to provide access to their corrected transcript. The number I input is the one submitted by TT for 2024.

Awful experience.

After using Turbo Tax desktop for 20 years I was forced to use online because Desktop only works on Windows 11 which I don't have and I am not going to install (due to its privacy intrusiveness). It is awful for Turbo Tax to marry Windows 11. Your online help screens are mediocre. Navigation is awful. I had to use external AI to find help and locate some features. Also, I don't want identity protection packaged together with Audit Protection. Since Desktop is no longer an alternative I may be hiring a CPA next year. Goodbye.
