TurboTax allowed a major error in reporting Capital Gains which resulted in substantial Payment Due on both the Federal and State returns. When this became apparent and was traced to the duplication of imported1099 DIV and 1099-B documents, the filing of Amended returns was awkward and required 2 attempts to complete. I will not be using this product next year.

Positives: It pulls needed information from previous forms. I liked that I could take a picture of my W-2 instead of filling out the form. Negatives: The never ending upsells are particularly irritating. It's enough to make me want to pay an accountant to do my taxes for me. The next biggest irritation is many of the steps are repetitive. Having to refill out the cost basis for option transactions was a major pain. The brokerage left the field blank because it was $0 - which happens when you sell one short. The software should recognize that and let me complete all in one fell swoop. I don't know if I'll use the software again.

I have used turbo tax for over 20 years. It works fine and I never have been audited. I believe it could be improved. I feel it could be completed in less than a half hour. I should be able to enter my information and answer all the question faster. There is too much unnecessary graphics and pauses while its "thinking". I think its not a good value anymore. 200 dollars to file federal and state? With a 20 percent discount.

Thanks for inventing a business partnership between my spouse and I. That took hours to find. I also appreciate deleting form 5405 this year, even though this is the final year it is required. HEAVY SARCASM! Awful as always, and it seems like the best fix to any issue is just to pay an extra $150 for an expert. I'm trapped in the ecosystem.

Very easy to use, and it reminds me of past incomes and expenses to I do not overlook anything insuring a correct return every year. I would not do my taxes without TurboTax. Outstanding product. Online support is easy to interpret, and it is very compatible with my accounting system (Quickbooks).

I did not like the experience compared to the Desktop version. It is difficult to skip around in the online version. There is no way to go directly to the form, if there is it wasn't obvious and the AI assistant was useless. Adding items from Let's Deduct It in desktop was easy. Online, there was a search box that 100% of the time could not find what I had donated.

This year was the worst experience that I've had with TurboTax! The questions are in a terrible order, it seems that I have enter things twice in different places, the page doesn't load when I'm trying to file my taxes, the spell check that this box using is terrible. I am extremely disappoint in your product this year. Previous years were MUCH better!

The system missed an incredibly obvious error in our Virginia returns. It asked how much income "you" (seeming, based on past questions, to mean "Nathan" and not "Gailynn") made in Virginia. It imported the amount of income that I, Nathan, made in Virginia. I did not notice until the second-to-last step that it in fact had been asking about BOTH of our incomes. The system absolutely SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT this, because it calculated a NEGATIVE income in Virginia, which is obviously impossible.

I would have rated this higher but it was rather painful entering the activity from my trading bot. There was a lot of transactions and the document upload/translation did not go smoothly. While it did upload every transaction I had to manually go in and enter information that was already present on the form for hundreds of transactions. I would ask that for next year try to smooth that experience out.

It's great that there's a platform that lets you do this from home, but as the years go by of me filing my taxes here, it gets more and more click bait-y and doesn't seem to really help that much with the State return. I could have totally messed something up because it helps so little with understanding what it's telling me to fix. It also has hidden charges near the end that you don't have to pay but it tricks you into trying to. I'm going to someone in person next year, I can't be bothered.
