Preparing the tax return would have taken MUCH less time, if TurboTax didn't continually ask to "upgrade" your experience! STOP trying to sell more products!!!! If someone wants to ONLY file a return, they should be able to. I know my complaint will not do ANY good, because I have mentioned this EVERY SINGLE YEAR that I have used this RIP OFF!!!!! Guess who will be filing elsewhere next year!!!! I hope I am not alone - your greediness is ridiculous!!!

Everything was great until it was time to pay for filing. There are fees for everything and selection information of what is optional and how it effects your processing time is not clear. The e-filing which is processed 5 days earlier, did not appear to be a requirement. That information is not clear when going through the completion process.

Very easy and friendly to use. Walks you through all the steps with a clear understanding of what information it is requesting. Retrieves all your investment data for you and is ready upon filing. Capability to import last year data and information is a big time saver and speeds up the process and makes the user feel that he has not missed anything based on data from prior years.

Free online filing was easy like the desktop method until the ID.me part came. It was supposed to be required for an IRS issued PIN. It was very convoluted & circular. After uploading ID docs twice, it promised an email in 2-3 days setting a video appointment to verify identity which never happened & I never received a PIN before finally uploading ID once again on day 3, then was able to complete e-filing. I almost gave up and opted to mail after all. Still don't know if the ID.me PIN thing was legit. In the end I appreciated being able to combine my federal & state refunds into one deposit.

Multiple screens are broken. When you click a checkbox, the screen jumps but nothing happens. You must click it a second time. The wording in several places is ambiguous and confusing. After moving forward 3 screens, I should be able to go back, one screen at a time. Some screens do, most do not. It takes you all the way back to screen one. Some screens open empty. You must scroll way down to find the buttons, etc... Most screens require too many clicks and the requested info is spread over too many screens. I find this latest version to be the worst version ever.

I had to wipe it all out because you charged me for expert advice, which I did not know about or use, last year and again this year. You made it impossible to change. Very sneaky for such a good product. I've been a customer for years and years and this upset me. I will look for another product.

Was incorrect in recommendations in filing and the user interface was very challenging in places. For example for the incorrect recommendation, it told me my office space was both larger than average for my home size as well as smaller than average for my home size. Both can't be true. I'm honestly not sure I trust the software, but at least my taxes are filed. For that confusing experience, I paid far too much. I will be looking for a different provider next year!! One positive feature, however, was the ability to take a picture of my documents with my phone and import that way.

Next year we might hire a tax person. We did a few small investments and our price more than doubled for turbo tax. Feel like this is crazy that small investments would trigger such a large increase in the price of this service. If Elon Musk used this service, he would pay the same price.

You asked me 6 times, 1 initially and 5 subsequent times, if I want to upgrade to Max. Absolutely unnecessary and a really sly way to trick people into opting into something they already decided on. It's cheap and pathetic. And on top of that, you're charging $139 for me to file my own taxes. BOO TURBO TAX!

You changed the finest tax program in the world to this miserable thing. Took me forever to get it all going and in the end you used every trick in the book to blook final filing trying to sell me something else i di not need. I used last years & Turbotax and all versions before from creation. It was smooth and flawless with no hidden tricks to sell me something else. Had all the instructions when I would do something wrong. Bottom line, whoever hired these new programmers who wrote this new version should be fired. And say good bye to me forever. I will use anybody elses tax programs next year and beyond. I still cannot believe that your management approved this new piece of do do over the master piece of all tax programs you had before.
