Overpriced

My grandson loves it. The battery compartment is too small for the wiring and the battery...nearly impossible to close. The primitive rod that is used to hold the battery in will not fit due to all the excess wiring harness for the battery and the compartment being so small. The battery compartment itself is very difficult to get to under the front bumper for us old guys. I feel like it's overpriced.

John Deere gator

So far this is the best birthday gift you can buy for a child. My only complaint is the dump bed secure pins. I had to modify them in order for them to actually stay in place. Not sure if it manufacturing mistake or it's made that way but I had to melt some plastic to get the piece in place. Overall this will be a fantastic long lasting toy

Fun but cheaply made

I made the decision to spend a lot of money on a ride on for my kids because I figured the quality would be much higher than a cheaper model. Wrong. This is made from flimsy plastic. Super disappointed; however, the kids love it. After about 30 minutes I noticed it starts to lose strength in the battery. The dump bed is difficult for me to unlatch and my kids can’t do it at all. I wouldn’t NOT recommend this product, but I’d recommend doing your homework. Go see them in person before buying.

Gator only lasted 3 months!

Bought this Gator for my 3 year old. In less than a month two tires had big holes in them and had to be replaced. The tailgate constantly popped open while driving. The front cover that protects the battery broke. And the worst part, after only owning this Gator for 3 months, the motor and gears completely stopped working!! My son was heartbroken. Replacement parts are a ridiculous price considering the price you pay for the Gator! Oh and within 3 months, the tires needed replaced AGAIN (this Gator was drove mainly on grass). Very disappointed with the life of this product!! Recently bought my son a Power Wheels Dune Racer to replace the Gator and it seems to be of much better quality!

tires cracked before a year was up

we are just outside of 6 months (out of warranty) and the back wheel cracked... seriously? poor quality. son loves to drive this but I'm not happy with the quality. maybe they should rethink the plastic tires = rubber. it is suppose to be a gator after all...

Great toy and incredible customer service

We purchased the Peg Perego Gator last year for our two youngest grandsons then aged 2 and 5. This year we added the trailer (which came with the hitch to mount on the Gator), and they both love the set. They help their parents with yard work by hauling tools, plants, dirt, leaves, and everything else from the garage out to the back yard. They love their Gator. They also love the Peg Perego Gaucho jeep that we keep at our house. It was made in 1998 and given to us in 2003 by a friend who's son had outgrown it. I replaced the battery then and my daughter's four children ran it until 2016 when a rather several blow to it by a falling branch during a windstorm physically broke a resistor in the electrical circuit. I emailed the Peg Perego customer service group to see about purchasing a replacement, with little hope of getting a response. The next day I received an email and a call from their technician who explained that particular model had a recall shortly after it was manufactured (18 years ago) and that the replacement part would be free. I live near the factory, so I took the unit there to make certain I got the right part, and the technician insisted on installing it for me, again at no charge. I was astounded and very grateful to say the least. So you can have confidence that your Peg Perego toy will give long service, and that if it is ever damaged you can obtain parts from the factory to fix it. You may have to purchase them at a modest cost (as they haven't had a recall in a long time)but they will be there if you need them.

Gator

Went together well. Be prepared to charge the battery for a day and a half. It is expensive for what it is but what can you do. The only issue is that it should have positive traction because if there is only one Kid in it, the passenger side wheel will spin on the slightest hill or root or bump. I put a 35 pound stump in the bed of it on the passenger side and it took care of that by weighting the drive tire down. It runs for a long time on a full charge,

Worth the money

My son received this as a present when he was 3 years old. He rode it almost daily for 7 years!!! We never had one issue with it, EVER. Finally after 7 years and a 10 year old's weight it began to wear out. My daughter received a little Barbie power wheels this past year (different brand) and it only lasted a few months.... the more expensive Peg Perego John Deere is TOTALLY WORTH the extra money and will last until they outgrow it! This product was such a huge part of my sons childhood. Looking now to buy one for my daughter.

Love, love, love this product!

We've had this for 2 and 1/2 years now. I cannot say enough about this! The kids ride this all over our two lots and love to follow behind daddy on his john Deere or help load twigs in the back, or just joy ride. We charge after each ride, and we get at least a a few hours of battery each time. Love, love, love this. Well worth it!

Great product, well made.

Not hard to piece together, I finished building in 20 minutes, the stickers took another 20 min. The adjustable seat makes a big difference as my son is a lil young for this and has to stretch a bit to hit the gas peddle. Add another battery and a speed charger to your initial buy $$$.
