Even though he has not been given the ride-on just yet it seems to be well built and pretty sturdy for 2 kids. Putting it together was not a challenge even with all of the decals. I know my son is going to enjoy riding this machine around in the yard.

My husband and I gave this to our 4 year old little boy for christmas this year (2014) and he LOVES it. He loves to load and unload firewood with Daddy and help clean up the backyard with Mommy. The only slight downside I would say is the traction. It spins a lot, when in grass or any slight incline, but the nice thing is that it is super light so even my son can get out and push it to where he needs it to be so it will stop slipping. My son wished it had working lights on it but maybe when he gets a real tractor one day he can have that. We love it!

We just got this and put it together. There wasn't an in store model, so at $400 we made a few assumptions...wrong move. The only metal I can see is the axel. The rest of the body is made of a soft plastic, the whole thing bends when a kid gets on it The suspension is fake. I have a 5 year old that weighs like 45 pounds, can't fit in it without contorting himself. When the seat is all the way back you can't really lift the bed (and seriously, who puts a pull there instead of putting in a lever on the side???). The pedal is directly in the middle of the vehicle, the other thing there is also the very long gear shifter, makes it awkward for reverse and when driving slow. Hopefully whoever designed this monstrosity of cheapness is unemployed and will stay that way forever for disappointing kids. This vehicle should be in the $150-200 price range, you are paying a $200 premium because it is John Deere, especially since it is only a 12V battery.

No you don't get what you pay for! This tractor is no different than a Power Wheel ride on!!!! I Paid a lot of money for cheap plastic, stickers, and a battery........... No detail or quality you would get in the older version Peg Perego ride on product that i bought for my kids..... Now my grand kids got a cheaper less quality product..... Not even a radio..... Do yourself a favor and buy lesser priced 12 volt ride on elsewhere because they are all the same now

My 3 year old Loves his Gator! He has no problems driving and steering it all around the yard. The seat is adjustable, so as he gets taller we can move it back. It has a tailgate that lets down and you can pull a lever to dump the bed. It even has a cup holder! So many well thought out features perfect for kids. The battery has a long life. We keep it on charge between uses. This Gator is made in Indiana, which I thought was awesome. FYI- the box it comes in is Huge! We had to strap it to the roof of my SUV b/c it wouldn’t fit through the back hatch. Yes, it’s an expensive toy, but my little guy is getting hours of enjoyment from it. Highly recommend!

Bought this Gator for my 3 year old. In less than a month two tires had big holes in them and had to be replaced. The tailgate constantly popped open while driving. The front cover that protects the battery broke. And the worst part, after only owning this Gator for 3 months, the motor and gears completely stopped working!! My son was heartbroken. Replacement parts are a ridiculous price considering the price you pay for the Gator! Oh and within 3 months, the tires needed replaced AGAIN (this Gator was drove mainly on grass). Very disappointed with the life of this product!! Recently bought my son a Power Wheels Dune Racer to replace the Gator and it seems to be of much better quality!

love the idea and the looks of it, but only thing I'm not really liking is the fact the steering wheel doesn't turn. and no it's not how it was assembled either. kind of disappointed with the amount of money spent for a truck my daughter cant even turn in.

Ordered online for store pickup. It was ready when I got there, very short wait. Easy to assemble. My Grandson, 26 months old loves it. He has fun just climbing around on it and driving it in circles in the yard. I have it locked in the low speed position for now.

My 3 year old loves this car, he can’t stop smiling when he gets to ride it. He liked to put his toys in the back and even picks up any trash he finds in the yard as he navigates around. I love that the speed can be adjusted when he gets a bit older!

It was very easy to put together other than the windshield parts of the Gator. I like how they show how x2 kids can put it together. But, it doesn’t show them assembling the windshield. After a slice to a thumb and a tstab in the hand to try and pry the windshield wrap around the windshield to install it to the gator. But, as advertised it is great looking vehicle. My son loved his Christmas gift.
