Amazing for my preschooler- this is by far his favorite activity outdoors, we have 20 acres and he loves helping out by schlepping sticks and small equipment to and from the barn (it really is helpful for us!). It goes just fine on our grass and gravel driveway, it will likely get stuck if you have steep hills, but it does fine on our smallish grade. We bought it for him for his 3rd birthday, he's now 4.5 and it hasn't lost its luster, though be warned little siblings will soon want their own! I love that its a two seater so my two year old can ride as well. The only issue we've had is the power cord stopped working and Peg Perego only covers that for 6 months so we had to buy a new one ($20). We also added on the trailer which I only recommend if they are actually going to do some work around your home (its been so useful when we prune trees and landscaping). Highly recommended by the whole family!

We had an old version bought second hand that stopped working after sitting outside all winter so we bought this as a replacement and our four year old loves it as much if not more than his previous "gator". It took my husband about an hour to put together (mostly because of the stickers!) and it's getting daily use since. Works well in grass and on paved surfaces if flat. Not suitable for going over large tree roots or rocks but will work on small hills for both surface types. Gets about 90 mins of "fast" use before running out of battery.

Walmart site to store works very well for me. The John Deere Gator was purchased as a birthday present for my 2year old grandson.Once it arrived the assembly was pretty easy even though the instructions are pretty vague at times. Appling all the decals is very time consumming and somewhat frustrating. They have a large backyard so it is mainly used on a grass surface & I noticed that it loses traction fairly easily ( might have to purchase the rubber traction bands for the wheels also, at nearly $400.000 they should be included) The first charge on the battery takes 18hrs so give yourself plently of time before actually putting the John Deere Gator to use. My grandson & friends where very excited and rode it constantly for about 2hrs until the battery needed recharging. In summary it would be nice if you could purchase it ready to ride but it was worth the time invested.

The item was cheaply made. Stickers for everything. No real button(s) to push. A child could not pull up on the red pulley to release the back. We got to 95% put together and a part was missing that would allow one of the wheels to turn. We returned it and will go where we can buy one already out together and see what is what with our own eyes. Very disappointed for a “John Deere” labeled product. Wasted 4 hours on this. Glad I didn’t put the stickers on yet.

This was a HUGE HUGE HIT. MY 3 year old son is OBSESSED. This was the best purchase I have ever made. Only thing I wish I could say for the price is that I wish the lights came on and the dashes wasn't just a sticker. Also I wish that it was a little more high tech, but it's fine and my son loves driving it.

We had a Mercedes Benz SUV one that worked great for 5 years of heavy use. This one is falling apart after 4-5 months of use. First pieces just started falling off, the back tailgate, the front piece that keeps the battery in and more. Now the tire completely broke open. It's also not for kids with long legs. The other one fit taller kids a lot better. I wish I went with a different one.

This car is weak which is super disappointing. It moves so slowly, even on the highest setting, and seems to be struggling. It supposedly can hold 2 people, but the seats have no leg room and my young kids are already almost too big for it, even at 5 years old.

This is so unfortunate. We ordered this for Christmas. We were halfway through building it late on Christmas Eve when we realized one of the pieces was broken off (the part that connects the bed to the chassis). Had a fun time explaining that to the kids (Blip the elf knocked it off the sleigh). Ordered a second one on Christmas Day and was told it would arrive in 2 weeks. It arrived Dec 26th (yay Walmart!). Frustratingly it was also broken: SAME PART! The first vehicle had the clip broken clear off. This one was attached, but there was a huge crack from top to bottom of the chassis. Ordered a third—the final attempt before we look for a different option. It arrived Dec 28th and was in one piece. The Gator is not packaged well enough. I’m assuming when moved in the factory or warehouse or in delivery people are putting the box down corner first, probably roughly, and because of the lack of packaging the plastic chassis is smacking off the plastic wheels at the base of the box, causing a fracture in the plastic. The problem lies ultimate with peg perego for the packaging. But the damage could have been caused any number of places along the supply chain, from warehouse to store, or by any of the moving/transporting/delivery people along the way. My son got this for Xmas and loves it. Took about 2 hours to put together. Battery needs time to charge. Battery lasts a few hours. It climbs up hill in the fast gear. He sobbed and sobbed the first day when the battery died. We will probably buy an additional battery.

We did SOOO much research trying to find a power wheels that would go up the hill on our driveway, and also go easily over grass. We werent 100% sure this one would work but based on other reviews decided to take a chance. It really worked great. It can go all the way up our driveway on the 2nd setting and can go easily on grass. It needs a little help getting up a grassy steep hill but that was okay with me. The kids love it.
