This was a Christmas gift for my children and they absolutely loved it! Assembly took about 2 hours. Walmart had the best deal. Very happy with this purchase!

It worked very well right out of the box. The tires are not great on snow.

We bought this for our son's third birthday. We were initially skeptical because of the higher price, but a few things caught our eye that made us look at it as more of an investment. For one, the weight limit was higher than most (around 130 pounds). The dual seats was also a selling point as we have another child on the way. The gator should last for many years between the two of them. Pros: - Overall build quality is pretty good (exceptions below). The frame and parts that need to last seem to be built well. - Seats are adjustable (forward and backward) to accommodate different sizes drivers/riders - Back of the gator can hold a lot and is pretty sturdy - Speed - I was surprised at how fast the 2nd gear is. My three year old is easily able to transition between the two speeds (plus reverse) with the lever between the seats. - There is a regulator that comes installed on the lever between the seats. This locks it into first gear (slower gear) but is easily removed with a screw - Batter life seems very good - Our son uses it all day without power fading Cons: - Assembly was tedious - plan for an hour or so to get everything put together. Directions weren't super clear at times too. - Though most of the gator is built well, a few parts are not. The front bumper is very flimsy and will probably fall off at some point. The red latch to pull up (dump) the rear of the gator broke on the first day as it's very thin. Waiting for a replacement. Lift gate is also a little flimsy. - Recommends charing for 18 hours - plan accordingly Over, we think this was a great purchase and our son is in love with it. It goes up and down the hills in our yard impressively well and can carry quite some heavy items in the back (our sons loves dragging stuff around). Another pro was the trailer you can purchase separately (probably a future birthday present).

We purchased online and did in store pick up. The first one we bought was broken, apparently this is common. We took it right back that day and they accepted the return. We went online and purchased with our refund from a a different store and picked it up the next day. it was perfect. I have heard horror stories about people buying from toys r us and having to go through the manufacturer for the return even when it comes damaged. It took about an hour for us to put together. If you're working alone the directions can be hard to read and might take up to two hours. Think a little better than ikea. The frame comes assembled with the wheels which saves tons of time. We bought this for my son who is turning 3 next month as an early birthday gift because we wanted to get the summer and fall use out of it. We have kept the governor on and he is already a pro at forward and reverse. We live on a hill and it does goes up our steep hill and travels well in the grass at the *higher* speed. We keep the governor on because of My daughter who is 20 months rides with her brother all the time. we have followed all battery instructions, waiting the full 24 hours before use and have been happy with the battery life.

Great item. It was available for pickup the very next morning after I ordered it online. Walmart was very friendly and even called for someone to take it to my vehicle without me even asking. Awesome customer service. This JD Gator is very sturdy and it rides two children with no problem over grass and hills. And it also has speed to it which my son loves. Well worth the money.
