Pretty good little machine.

We bought this for our two year old daughter. It is a nice little machine. It is more expensive than other battery powered ride on toys but it does handle terrain very well. It can climb gravel inclines, and second speed is pretty fast for a toddler!! Would recommend this for little ones.

Needs work

For almost $400, I expected more. there are a few big problems that need to be addressed by peg perego. first and foremost, the first time I pulled on the red bed release, it broke right in the middle. so I had to give my son a broken toy for his birthday which was a shame. The piece of plastic is just too thin and you will probably break yours as well so be careful. second, the tailgate won't stay shut. whenever my son drives the gator through the backyard, the tailgate falls down. The latches won't keep it secure. it came like this straight out of the box. The instruction manual is also a conglomeration of addenda. they originally wrote the manual in such a vague manner that they had to add two additional sheets to tell you which screws to use when the original manual just says "use the appropriate screw" without telling you which one to use. last, the tires need better traction as my son gets stuck in the yard trying to drive over green but dry grass. It's kind of silly because the thing has 4x4 stickers but it's maybe one wheel drive. I'm sure my son will still love it, but for $400, I expected more. I hope peg sees this feedback and makes changes necessary to fix their product.

Great ride on toy

My 3 year old loves this Gator. It has a very long battery life and there are a lot of options out there for this platform to upgrade tires, batteries, motors, etc. A little bit expensive but worth it for the quality. It seems like it will last a long time and we will have fun modifying it together when things start to wear out.

Disappointed tire quality.

It is really not for anyone over 4 ft tall. The tires are cheap and will need replaced if you drive on concrete, possibly not longer you buy it... unless you beef them up in some way. Probably fine on grass and dirt but concrete destroys these tires in no time. It does have good speed, though the reverse has to be held down while the pedal is pushed for some reason. I've already ordered some more I'm going to beef up before I install them. Other ones wore threw in a MONTH.

Good riding toy for young children

The directions for assembly were terrible and difficult to follow. The Jeep does not do well in grass as advertised. Our grandson is 3 and the seat is almost as far back as it will go. I do not believe there are many 6 year olds that could fit into this Toy unless they are very small. Again I think the size is a little over advertised. I think this is a good toy but probably overpriced.

My son loves his Gator! Perfect size for him (3) and his sister (4). The tires sometimes spin when driving on rocks, but I try to keep him on grass or dirt most of the time to preserve the tires. He absolutely loves being able to haul leaves, toys, and rocks in the back. The battery life is great compared to other ride-ons that we've purchased. Didn't give 5 stars because the tailgate falls open as he drives. I put a small glue dot on it to fix the problem. I'd definitely recommend.

Happy Grandsons!

We were very happy with the size and quality of the John Deere battery ride on for our Grandson's as well as the choice for Daughter to pick up at a local WalMart or have it shipped which we chose for easy of the young family. Quality vendor WalMart as well as quality product. Very satiisfied in all aspects of our purchase. Best part of Christmas, surprising the kids!

John Deere Kids ride on

Bought this for my grandkids age 3. They love it! Has 2 speeds, of course they love the faster speed! Even has reverse. Tires are a little slippery on small surfaces. It struggles on a small hill in our yard. Tires just spin. Would recommend a back up battery also! They never want to get out of it so definitely ordering a second battery.

Works well, hard time on sloping pavement

We have this to our kids for Christmas. So far so good, they love it and can operate everything. Out almost 3 year old cannot do the trick bed yet but I think he will be there in a few months. There are no rubber tracks on these tires which makes the wheels just spin on our sloping blacktop driveway. Seems ok on grass so far otherwise it works well.

Can’t get good traction

I ordered this item for my daughters 2nd birthday she loves it and can drive it pretty well with some steering assistance and does sit on the edge of the seat but I wanted that I wanted something she would drive for a while around the property. To be honest it’s ok, we ordered one and had to return it because it had no bolts to put it together with. The next one came in no problem went together pretty easy. Now that’s she’s trying to drive it around it just can’t get much traction in the rear the tires are just constantly spinning it doesn’t matter if it’s grass, packed gravel, packed dirt, or the slab. Definitely doesn’t get enough traction to go up a small incline. If she sits in the bed of it and her sister drives it helps because it’s added weight to the back but obviously we don’t want that all the time. I added some blocks to the bed but I don’t feel like that should have been needed. Plus that’s the area where they should play out there own dirt and sticks and such not blocks stacked in the back to go honestly I don’t feel 100% confident with them back there and one of them try to move the block. Speed 1 and 2 are essentially the same speed and though at her age it’s ok and average person does walk faster than it. Overall for the price I should have opted for the fourwheeler that is an off brand like her sisters though they can’t ride together it did much better on our property and still going strong 4 years later.
