The item was cheaply made. Stickers for everything. No real button(s) to push. A child could not pull up on the red pulley to release the back. We got to 95% put together and a part was missing that would allow one of the wheels to turn. We returned it and will go where we can buy one already out together and see what is what with our own eyes. Very disappointed for a “John Deere” labeled product. Wasted 4 hours on this. Glad I didn’t put the stickers on yet.

This is a fun toy, well made, sturdy. It is easy to assemble. Like the John Deere tractor, which we purchased for my grandson a couple of years ago, it can be made even better by purchasing bicycle tires and hot gluing the tread around the tires. This added tread will let the tractor or Gator go anywhere. And I mean anywhere, even in snow. I would say that you had better be a pretty short 8 year old to fit the Gator, but we are thinking that the seat setup could be tweaked as well when the time comes. The box is great for hauling, my grandson loves it.

Tires are hard plastic with very little traction/tread. Not the best on uneven grass or gravel,tires spin easy. May have to fit some rubber tires around the plastic and glue and screw to the plastic. The manual used to put the gator together is a little tough to follow at times with the photos.

This car is weak which is super disappointing. It moves so slowly, even on the highest setting, and seems to be struggling. It supposedly can hold 2 people, but the seats have no leg room and my young kids are already almost too big for it, even at 5 years old.

Bought this for my godson for his birthday. It does pretty well in high gear going up hills and in wet grass. However if he let off the pedal in the middle of going up hill the tires would spin and not go anywhere. It doesn't have a whole lot of grip on tires and they r plastic but that can be modified. Overall impressed at the power and build. He's a rough little kid so we will test durability in the next few months.

We made the mistake of buying a ride on for our grandson from a company operating out of a storage unit in Bradford but it broke irreparably after a few months. Learned our lesson. Should have purchased a Peg Perego, comes with a 2 year warranty and solid construction. The grandson is turning 3 soon and it’s been perfect for him. He loves the dumping function, the tailgate and the battery chargers quickly. Night & day quality difference!

My grandparents had a previous Peg Perego that lasted almost 20 years, so when it came time to replace it I thought going with this would be good. However, like other reviews, this arrived missing a part. Once we ordered the part, and the work on assembling continued, we found one of the bolts was stripped, so my husband went to 3 different stores and ended up spending an additional $90 to get the tools to fix it. My husband, who is a mechanical engineer, has literally spent hours trying to assembly this and we're still not there. I hesitant to recommend it, but I'm guessing the cheaper brands are even worse. However, if you don't have someone in the family who is handy with mechanics, you may be in trouble. If you do decide to buy this, I would try to get it at least a month ahead of when you'd like it so you have time to order new parts, troubleshoot, and assemble.

My son loves the Gator. He puts his juice in the cup holder and takes off across the yard. We placed two pieces of wood in the dump bed for weight. My son is lite and our yard is no completely flat so we added the wood to help him get more traction. It took my husband an hour to put together. So far we are very pleased.

My 3 year old son loves this - my only suggestion would be to purchase in store. the Site to Store process was a nightmare. I actually ended up going to the store and purchasing the in stock item and returning the Site to Store order when it came in. No idea why they don't fill the Site to Store orders with store stock, but I won't use Site to Store again. Almost ruined my son's birthday.

Works great for my grandson (age 4). Back tailgate broke off in no time. Everything else has held up well. For new learners, be sure to adjust the screw so they can't go into high gear, because they'll be too fast for you to keep up with. I have to drive along in the car behind my grandson to be able to make sure he doesn't go too far off track or head for the road. P.S. one of his favorite things is the cup holder -- he always wants to make sure that he has a drink to put in it!
