Bought this for my grandsons. The low speed should be easier to lock in, somewhere under the toy or the hood. 3 year old has no problem but little brother needs lower speed. Back of gator is flimsy and latch is not great. For riding this is amazing and for our grandsons whom love tractors and anything farming they are loving it and worth the money.

So cute! Bought this for our 3 year old grandson for Christmas. He hasn't figured out how to push the throttle but it won't be long. For elderly grandparents it was a bit of a challenge to put it together, but we persevered and got it done. The smile on his face was worth the effort.

Item came damaged. Took about 5 hours of extra work to get it put together due to ridiculously poor packaging or poor manufacturing. I don't know if this is WalMart's fault, Fedex or the manufacturer, but I would expect most of this is on poor manufacturing and assembly. Poor assembly exposed sharp edges that could easily cut someone's hands. I would try someone else other than Peg. I've reached out to WalMart to see what they will do about the damage to the item. We will see what happens.

Bought two for my boys and they look better in person. They love these little trucks. The trucks are sturdy thus far, we've only had em since Christmas. We live in Ohio so the weather has permitted us to use them as much as the boys would like. So far so good though.

We made the mistake of buying a ride on for our grandson from a company operating out of a storage unit in Bradford but it broke irreparably after a few months. Learned our lesson. Should have purchased a Peg Perego, comes with a 2 year warranty and solid construction. The grandson is turning 3 soon and it’s been perfect for him. He loves the dumping function, the tailgate and the battery chargers quickly. Night & day quality difference!

Overall, the Gator is really great because its made well, is a perfect size for 2 avg size 4-5 yr old boys. Pros; -The battery lasts a really long time even in the cold temps we`ve been using it in. The battery has lasted over an hour of constant use...we haven`t fully discharged the battery yet, so we do not know how long it will actually run. -My son loves having a bed to drive around and put stuff in. He drives around the yard to help me transport all of the sticks from the trees, puts toys, tools, dirt, etc. in it. He even drives his pedal bike up to the school track to bike ride! -It is very easy for him to drive and operate. -It seems very durable so far as he runs over roots, rocks, and peels out quite a bit and the wheels do not seem to be wearing out too quickly and the parts seem to be holding up well. -Seats 2 kids...my son is social and loves including other people.....many of the cheaper options are single seats or very small 2 seaters. -Very powerful, almost too much torque....like whiplash start and stops in 2nd gear. Cons: If I were asked about things I do not like....there are a few, but the things I like outweigh the negatives; -No lights or sounds, but that is fine, would drain the battery faster -Very loud motor and the plastic wheels make it even louder on pavement -Plastic wheels...why can we not get these with rubber or at least rubber coated wheels??? -Cup holder is too small....what size cup/bottle fits this thing??? -Instructions were worse than IKEA, and Ive gotten really good with IKEA instructions....I am considered very handy and there were some parts that I had to just scrap the instruction and go with what made sense to get it to work with the materials I had left....they could do better with close up images and written instructions easily -A battery switch shut-off so I can easily disconnect power so every kid in the neighborhood does not jump on it when my kid steps off. Also would be nice so I do not get run down while installing the battery. Yes, I know I could tell my kid to get out until the battery is in, but the joy in his smile would also go away....I will just take my chances and probably install my own switch when it warms up. -Spring shocks would be great. Many of the cheaper vehicles have them, but maybe they are not very durable or something. -A lot of torque on the starts and stops....a slow deceleration and start would be nice to keep the wheels from spinning or sliding and my kids head from jerking so much.....not going to lie, he kind of loves it and laughs so much, so this is not that much of a negative. -Tailgate pops open a lot....bad locking mechanism...there really isnt one, so I will likely add something at some point.

Our grandson is 2-1/2 and he is having a blast! The Gator is quality built and extremely easy and safe for our grandson to drive. He is really developing motor skills and confidence level beyond his age! I would highly recommend it will bring many many hours of fun and entertainment for your family. Was not difficult to put together.

My son loves it! Good speed options, fairly easy to put together. Missing one hubcap though. My biggest issue it the battery compartment… you have to unscrew a panel every time to charge it which is a pain considering it needs to be charged frequently.

First off for the price I expected more it’s smaller than the old gator the battery location is horrible, there are no working light, horn, radio nothing it is as plain as it gets, I never bought a power wheels that had nothing not even a radio I could have bought any other one or brand for less money with working lights and sounds , the dump bed won’t stay shut , the latch to operate the dump bed broke first time there are no seat belts and the ground clearance sucks save your money buy something else

With the help of a great Walmart associate, Larry, in the Bentonville, AR Store #1's Toy Department, I was able to make a purchase of the John Deere Gator from my home in Texas and have it picked up in-store. My son and his father-in-law put the Gator together and applied all of the decals. Be prepared for a couple of hours of assembly! Also, the battery requires 18 hours to reach a full, initial charge, so plan ahead. My grandson loves his Gator so I couldn't be happier!
