The knife block has a built in knife sharpener which sharpens the knife every time. The knives have a durable handle and easy to hold. I used the chef knife to cut a watermelon and it was a breeze.

It’s very durable and the design of the sharp edge technology is great. They slide into the right slot with ease. If the pocket doesn’t fit the knife it won’t go in! Great safety feature. The knife itself weight to it. They cut like through a tomato like butter and the blades are sharp. It’s great the way the edge of the knife has imprinted on the handle tip the type it is. This has become my new favorite knife set. The larger knives have the sharpening ability built in. The steak knives do not. I definitely recommend having one of these sets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These knives are beautifully crafted and definitely sharp! They seem durable but are not too heavy to hold. I like the self sharpening feature. The draw backs for me, the block is deep and sticks out far into my work space and the knives are hand-wash only. I know I will follow the directions but will others in my home and they end up being dish washed and possibly rust?

The block is designed so that the knives are sharpened each time you place them back for storage. Each knife is labeled so that you can easily identify it before removing it. All of the knives came pre-sharpened and ready to use. This set also includes eight steak knives and a set of kitchen shears.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, these knifes are razor sharp so I had to learn to be more careful than with my older professional knife set. I love the built in sharpeners for the chef knives, no more searching for my sharpener or wasting time honing the edges. The multi purpose scissors are great for trimming skin on meat or for cutting apart pizza slices and the space in the block for them means I might actually find them now. The steak knives cut cleanly with a little less effort than my previous ones which is great too. I have cut, chickens apart with ease as well as fruits and vegetables. I do have a favorite knife already, the santoku knife is multitasking great for thinly slicing meats but also cleanly slices soft skinned fruits and vegetables, my tomatoes were cut perfectly. With a built in sharpener for the chef knives and super sharp blades this is the perfect set for budding chefs.
