Always known to me as being high quality products, the Premier 15 Piece Knife Set w/SharpIN Edgetech does not disappoint. Its sleek design look great on my counter. The set includes everything needed for most kitchen cooking projects. They are labeled so you know what knife you are pulling out. It’s also convenient having the knives housed in their own sharpeners. Slicing vegetables, meats, bread, and fruits is done with ease since these knives remain razor sharp. The knives slice as thin and accurately as my mandolin. Cleaning is no effort since you just need to rinse and dry off and replace them into the block. Housing them in the block is a definite safety feature as they’re not laying in a drawer where you can reach in and get cut. I would highly recommend this knife set, and look forward to using them every day! They may be a bit pricey, but they will last, therefore you will get your money’s worth.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, these knifes are razor sharp so I had to learn to be more careful than with my older professional knife set. I love the built in sharpeners for the chef knives, no more searching for my sharpener or wasting time honing the edges. The multi purpose scissors are great for trimming skin on meat or for cutting apart pizza slices and the space in the block for them means I might actually find them now. The steak knives cut cleanly with a little less effort than my previous ones which is great too. I have cut, chickens apart with ease as well as fruits and vegetables. I do have a favorite knife already, the santoku knife is multitasking great for thinly slicing meats but also cleanly slices soft skinned fruits and vegetables, my tomatoes were cut perfectly. With a built in sharpener for the chef knives and super sharp blades this is the perfect set for budding chefs.

Theses are made of high carbon for durability and staying sharp. You need to wash by hand and dry completely before placing in storage block. It says you need to go on line to obtain a warranty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 15 piece knife set from Calphalon is fantastic. It is a gorgeous set with a low profile that fits beautifully on the counter top. The SharpIN Edgetech keeps knives sharp as the sharpener is inside the Block! Fantastic concept. The knives are full tang with high carbon stainless steel. I love that the knives have printed handles that tell it's usage. The set comes with utility kitchen shears and 8 steak knives. I am so pleased. I cut a tomato so easily it was unreal. I highly recommend this premium Calphalon knife set.

I am sadly disappointed with these knives. I have Calphalon kitchenware that are quality products, but these knives are not worth the expensive price. What I do like: The idea of a self-sharpening block is great and the block is nice and heavy. The knives are marked, so when going to grab one, you know which one you're getting. The handles have a comfortable grip. What I don't like: The blades! The most important part of the knife. The metal is light and flimsy. The knives cut well, but not impressively well. If the set was less in price, I'd give them a higher rating. These are good knives, but if you are a person who cooks a lot, these are not the very best knives to use.

Good except for the steak knives which feel extremely weak and cheap.
