Would figure a gain on the sale of my business vehicle regardless of input. It cannot calculate accurately. No matter what figures were entered, it would produce a gain equal to the disposal price everytime. Very frustrating software. I'm not sure what else may be inaccurate.

I have used TurboTax for many years. This year I was not impressed with your preparedness. We give hundreds of items to Goodwill every year, and we use your valuation tool to arrive at a valid value for deductions. This year, all we got was a note that the tool was not yet available, but coming soon. That does me no good if I am doing my taxes now. Also, when I was trying to pay for Audit defense, I had a terrible time entering the expiration month of my credit card. You did not fully debug that screen, and the pop-down did not operate correctly. These kind of errors on your part do not make me confident that you will help me file my taxes correctly. You really need to be 100% ready when it is time to file taxes.

I download TurboTax and had all business and employee information loaded into the online portal but when I went to complete a W2 I kept getting a Box 5 is too small error. I was on the phone for 2 hours and 15 minutes and they tried to tell me it was an accountant error and we lost connection. I called back and actually had to do it on the desktop, which isn't as user friendly.

Turbo tax desktop kept prompting me to switch to online. I did so and determined that it couldn't handle my complex tax situation. I had to be on the phone for 6 hours to finally get switched back and filed without getting charged a second time. Customer service was a nightmare, nobody knew how to help me until I finally spoke to my 7th representitive who actually could help.

Would be good to have a fully working version ready (or at least some preliminary version of the software) at the beginning of the year. I purchased TurboTax 2026 in Jan 2026 because I urgently needed to do estimations for my 2026 tax return (required for some of my applications). Surprisingly it appeared that some of important sections in the purchased software did not work at all so that I had to do everything manually. Required updates became available only in mid February. For the future versions it would be really good to have a fully working version at the beginning of the year .

In general a good experience. I which the expense categories were closer to reality, so that I didn't have to open the helper windows all the time to see what expense fits where. I also lost lot of time with the broken form 1116 before I researched and became aware that there was an update that had not yet landed.n I would appreciate an extra function that gives the user an overview of the income and expenses as ty go, so that a comparison with my own records is possible. The explanations and input method for the deduction of foreign taxes is cryptic and very difficult so follow. I had no problems the only compatibility I used, the upload from my financial institution which worked seamlessly. The State Taxes section (CA) is overloaded , I wish that the most common cases would be shown first before one has to search through all the dozens of deduction cases.

I have used turbo tax for many years. I do so because they make it simple and seemingly thorough. Advice help is always offered but I do not use it because I feel that the questions etc are clearly stated and if i have my records i can find the answers. I would use the Turbo Tax help if I did not trust Turbo Tax to be clearly professionally together for their paying customers. I understand taxes enough after doing them myself for so long and am trusting turbo tax to continue their professionalism in making their program. If Turbo Tax can promise me that after looking at my tax forms that they will find me ways to get a larger tax refund I would gladly pay for advice but if that is not promised I'd be silly to throw good money after bad by simply "hoping' for more . That's gambling to me.

I love the product overall and have used it for years. I used Home & Business for 2025. I do have two areas that i would love to see improved. 1. While in forms view, it would be great to be able to "drill down" on the figures by clicking on them and going to their source calculation. For example - It took me a while to find the source of an item on the Medical expenses worksheet. I had some consulting income (1099) and employee income (w-2) and $20k in Medical premiums (Medicare) and expenses. The item was on the Medical Expense Worksheet line 2.o. It took a while to figure out that it is the net result of schedule 7206. 2. Medicare Premiums/Medical Expenses while self-employed - get duplicated when added in the SSA-1099 section and Itemized in Schedule A and listed in Schedule C.

(1) After entering a 1099-NEC the Deluxe version recommended upgrading to Home & Business, but allowed me to continue. While still entering on Income screens after every 'Continue' selection a message would pop-up to go back and correct an error. I went all the way back, no errors found. I exited and deleted the tax form. When I started a new return, when I received the upgrade notice on the 1099-NEC I upgraded. After upgrade the problem never reappeared. (2) I only completed 4 returns, but the software is indicating I submitted 5. I'm guessing it is counting the return I couldn't complete and deleted.

TurboTax makes the process easy by transferring previous year's tax information if you used TurboTax to the current year, provides step-by-step guidance through the process, provides deeper information if requested, allows access to the form to make changes, points out errors that need attention, automatic downloads of brokerage information is a time saver, and automatic filing is the icing on the cake.
