I have used Turbotax Home and Business for many years. This year was the first year that I would encounter an error when I go to pay for the State. It would not let me proceed. Upon numerous conversations with Turbotax and trying some things on my end, it still would not let me put in my card information to charge the state e file, therefore I had to mail them in, something I haven't had to do in many years. Please fix whatever this issue is, because I won't be using Turbotax again unless it's figured out.

Started with the On-Line version this year. Did NOT like it. Almost done and I went back to doing it all over again with the desktop version. Something didn't make sense and found that I had 'imported' vanguard data that I already had entered. Have a big problem with needing a separate field to list what the IRS calculated RMD basis for each account SEPARATE from what I happened to withdraw to achieve the combination of my QCD and my RMD. Has to search for the QCD (it is only listed as Charity - not QCD) entry. No simple way to see total of all my accounts that require an RMD, and what my RMD & QCD were.

Overall, reasonably good. Lots of problems with the business tab and the retirement part of it. In that tab, it appears to show I can still contribute $46,500 to a SEP, but that contribution does not affect my overall tax. Other places in the Turbo Tax code, it appears to contradict the business tab. Finally, no matter what I do, the high level of the business tab for retirement still states "available" in green. Is that a mistake that the "available" in green never seems to go away. It is very confusing. Turbo Tax can and should make their software better.

The only thing I didn't like was being shown my state ID number had changed, that I had to go back to where it was documented on my federal taxes, but not being taken there or telling me where that was. After unsuccessfully searching for 30 minutes, I had to call Inuit for help, and that took 30 minutes. The agent was wonderful and found the place, but it took me an extra hour to be resolved.

TurboTax 2025 on MacOS is buggy. There is a well-known bug that took me an hour to identify & figure out a way to workaround: federal refund gets zero'd out when stepping through EasyForm on the Audit Risk step. I finally figured out a way to get around it & it seems that it is a well known problem.

The new Federal ID pin is different than my selected pin however it is not obvious where or how to enter this pin before e-file. My return was rejected twice before I found the area to enter this special 6 digit pin. There is no Federal tab at the top of the page just State tab. or tab for "other tax situations" as directed in the instructions.

Straight Forward guidance throughout the filing process. I have been using this product for 3 decades with very few problems/issues. I do NOT like the Intuit Marketing to "PUT EVERYTHING ON THE CLOUD YOU ALREADY TRUST!... and the software is FREE" #1 - I do NOT Trust the "CLOUD" and while I use Turbo Tax (for 30 years) I trust as little information I have to be shared/saved on their servers/cloud... and after being hacked once already, SHAME ON YOU for thinking you can be trusted to store my most sensitive financial data on your servers. #2 - Why not look at how long your customers have been with you and give THEM a freebie now and then!?!?!

For the first time ever, my return was rejected because of a "The Spouse did not enter a valid Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN)." I went back and checked and it was there. What's the deal????? Just because I didn't pay the extra $60. for tax advice????

This has been my most frustrating experience in all the years I've used Turbo tax. I had to buy a new computer this year because my other one wouldn't run Windows 11. I thought with a new computer and we now have good high speed internet it would be smooth sailing. Downloaded product, ran updater, no problem. Loaded some information and signed off. Came back some days later to resume work, started Turbotax which prompted update. Ran update to 39% and it froze. Waited 30 minutes and no change. Tried to cancel update, wouldn't cancel. Tried to shut off computer, it wouldn't let me, had to force cancel. Tried again 2 more times, same thing, gave up. Started again next day, tried some suggestions found on Turbo tax site, still no success. Changed internet browser and tried again, said 6 minutes, ran very slowly for over 20 minutes, finally took off, said would 30000 some thousand minutes then went to 0 and FINALLY RAN UPDATE. After 2 days frustration finally finished taxes. Hope this update issue gets fixed. It worked fine when I initially installed the product and when I came back some days later to resume working it went loco. Nothing had changed on my end, same browser, same computer. What happened? Hope you figure it out, was feeling my money might be better spent getting a local tax professional.

I've used Turbo since it was launched. This is the first year that issues have occurred. Even though I received the notice with the check stating that my taxes had been filed, they had not. Each time I opened my file, I was told to file my taxes. There appeared to be no communication between the program and the status of my submission. The issues have been addressed. I will still do my taxes as long as I can. I like the privacy of the process.
