The major problem for me in completing the 2025 tax returns was lack of understanding the questions or terms used. I had to consult another app to understand what the question was. Suggest using a simpler terminology or explanation in TurboTax, especially when dealing with sale of rental property or a new taxable item.

Everything was great as usual. There were a few places where I searched the web to gain a better appreciation of the tax rules. I also think you could have communicated better regarding the delay due to tax changes affecting depreciation for rental properties.

• Continually sends me emails recommending that I purchase Turbotax even weeks AFTER I have purchased and installed it. Similar to last year when I continued to receive weekly emails regarding late filing services 5-6 months after I had in fact, filed the return. • Schedule F: Failed to transfer 2024 farm income (as seen in the year-to-year comparisons) • Personal income section: Does not allow me to skip electronic import of investment data and go directly to manual input. Instead, it takes me to import, and when I enter “skip” it takes me to back to the initial page where it eventually allows me to manually enter the data. Very inefficient, and frankly wasteful and disrespectful of my time. Turbotax should have an up-front option to skip all electronic import and allow the user (i.e., the person who PAYS FOR this software) to manually enter data if he so chooses. o I note that in previous editions of Turbotax, there was a check-box with the option to stop asking the question. • Also, Turbotax added-in several “blank” or “Un-named” investment accounts which I am unable to delete. There is no data in these accounts, since they do not exist, but as a user I am not allowed the option to delete them. o Eventually I opened the “Forms View” and was able to delete the non-existent accounts. • On the screen “Other Interest and Dividends” TurboTax auto-checks for seller-financed mortgage interest (which I don't have) and does not allow me to un-check the box. • 1099-R: Turbotax imported the payer name for my pension, but it also imports the data from last year and does not allow me the option to update or edit any information for the current tax year. I was finally able to manually enter by going to the “Forms View” but it still won't allow me to edit information from the main “Step-by-Step” menu. o Eventually needed to enter “Form View” to delete the entire form and start again from scratch. • My state forms did not transfer my Federal pension exemption. Notes said to locate “Find” on toolbar, but there is no such term on the toolbar. Again, had to return to the “Form View” and delete the entire form, then re-enter the information. Once that was completed, the information was correct but there was no option to edit the data from the “Step-by-Step” screen.

Its getting worse and worse at parsing imports, i'm having to go down into the PDF files to find out what it can't parse, figure out how to solve it and do it myself. The online forms are just full of unanswered questions. The workflow is terrible, and I'm still having to manually input bank statements because it won't work with my bank.

I cannot give TurboTax five stars this year, because there was a problem with respect to populating the MO-1040 form with taxes paid with a MO-60 extension form. I could not for the life of me figure out how to do it, as it wouldn't even let me fill it in on the actual form when I couldn't find it on Easy Step. It would let me fill in "estimated taxes" but it would not let me fill in an amount paid with an extension. It's a serious flaw, and I just had to amend the PDF for filing on paper. If I had wanted to file it electronically, I would not have been able to do it.

Turbo Tax was fairly easy to use. Some of the features were difficult to access, including how to print. Would also like to have the ability to print individual screens, especially through the final stages of payment, refund, and successful filing notification.

Gtood presentations and explanations of tax law, and of different treatments of income and expenses based on personal and business. Easy and clear access to forms and worksheets behind the screens. Improvements needed: 1. Improve explanation of entry with respect to accrued interest. Inform user as to whether accrued interest paid or accrued interest earned should be entered. 2. With respect item #1 above, tell user how they can change the entry. I made the wrong entry and wanted to delete it but could not find it on the screen after initially entering a wrong amount. I final had to search the worksheets and find it manually buried in an obscure form. That is unacceptable. 3. The interface screens often do not come up on the computer even though the application is open. Often, I had shut down my computer and reboot in order for the application to update and appear on my computer.

Issues on entering 1099 R's after entering the distribution information it prompts to how much RMD was distributed . I already entered the tax withheld. After entering the RMD requested number it keeps increasing my tax liability by the thousands, so I just enter 0 and no additional increase in taxes due change.

Ever since I went to a tax prep "expert" in 20023 and saw them entering information on a website, I said to myself, "Hey...I can do that!" I have been using TurboTax since then with no complaints! The software is easy to use and employs everyday language. As a senior citizen with moderate tech savvy I would VERY HIGHLY TurboTax!!!

As a long-time TurboTax user, I remain generally satisfied with the software as my annual go-to for tax filing. The step-by-step interface makes a complicated process manageable — but this past year brought two frustrating situations that cost me significant time, stress, and money to resolve. First, because my self-employment income showed no profit, TurboTax did not generate a Schedule SE — which I still needed for my local Form OR-TM (Oregon Transit Tax). I paid for TurboTax Desktop Live Tax Advice hoping for a solution, but the issue was simply beyond what they could do within the software. I requested a refund and ultimately had to download the Schedule SE directly from the IRS and complete it manually. Second, TurboTax flagged a local tax form as incompatible with electronic state filing, blocking my entire electronic submission rather than simply setting that one form aside for separate mailing. I had to manually remove the form myself, file my state return electronically without it, and submit the local form separately — a workaround I should never have had to devise on my own. TurboTax works well for straightforward returns, but users with less common tax situations may find themselves having to devise their own workarounds when the software falls short.
