TurboTax for 2025 was very, very difficult to use! First of all, the version I purchased was Canadian version and was supposed to be an American version. I had to get help on-line to convert it into a usable form. When I tried to file my taxes I couldn't because of an error on a worksheet. The instructions on how to correct it were nonexistent that I spent hours trying to figure it out! I've been a customer for 10 or 15 years and this was absolutely this most difficult time I have ever had doing my taxes!

1) Turbo Tax insisted we had income from Canada. Totally false and bogus. 2) State Tax refund from 2024 was imported from last year, but the number was incorrect. 3) When filing you already know and display my bank routing information, so why do you make me enter it? 4) You know my general tax situation because you import the previous year's numbers, so when guiding me through this year, only focus on the categories that I entered last year. If I have a new, arcane situation, then I'll ask for that form. You could streamline the process so I could file in 15 minutes, but this drags on for an hour answering "no".

I would prefer rather than calling if I could text or email a question to the turbotax accountant. For me that would be easier than trying to explain an issue over the phone. Also, sending a photo of the page in question would be helpful. But that's just me. Thanks, dm

As a retired senior of 82 years I find that with TurboTax Premier I can easily do my own taxes. I have IRAs, dividends, interest, etc. and all of this is easily melded into the IRS return. This is done in my own home at my leisure. No need to turn everything over to a tax consultant and pay high prices. I've been doing this for years and will continue to do my taxes with TurboTax.

Contributions to a Roth IRA (post tax) account do not affect taxes as long as AGI is below the contribution limit. When this information is added into TurboTax, then the tax increases. As I mentioned last year, when you print your tax return using the PDF option, the password protection does not work. I can still open the file without a password prompt.

1. I didn't like having to wait until mid-January to have the "Investment" features updated before I could do a preliminary estimate of taxes. No opportunity to submit estimated taxes before Jan 15. Fortunately, I didn't need to. 2. I didn't like having to remove Tax Audit defense fee from the final pre-submittal screen. It should be an opt-in -- NOT an opt-out. That's a crummy way to treat your users. I pay enough for your software packages without being tricked into paying even more.

I have used TurboTax for years and have liked its features and ease of use. However, there are two areas that need improvement. 1. TT needs to be clearer about handling multiple IRA RMD's especially when I choose to take of my required RMD's from one IRA which is permitted by Federal law. I don't feel confident that TT understands and account for all of my RMDs. 2. TT eliminated "Its Deductible" software which was a VERY helpful tool when preparing for Non-Cash charity contributions. PLEASE give us back "Its Deductible".

Again, this year, it would not let me e-file the state tax return. It kept saying we run into a snag and would not go any further. Wasted 4 hours on the phone and nothing worked. Last year there was an option to pay by phone, but that option was not available this year. So, I had to print and mail my state taxes. Sad that this company has fallen down to the point where their software does not work.

Identified 2 problems with your software that I will need to contact you about: 1. In the PDF of my final federal return, the pages for my 1040 ES (estimated tax payments for 2026) are marked with HUGE letters: DO NOT FILE, NOT FINAL. So I can't print them! 2. I had a direct IRA rollover (code G), and TURBOTAX kept wanting to make this rollover a taxable event.

This version is too buggy: 1. I purchased this in Jan. I started entering my personal info but held back entering income until the banks complete their forms. When I went back to continue my tax preparation, it made an update then asked me to register again. Then all the information I entered previously is gone. 2. I am not able to enter interest income in the guided view. I have to enter it directly in the form. 3. It told me it needs to calculate the tax penalty even though I am receiving a refund and I also received a refund from the previous year. 4. It asked me to enter last year's state tax even though it already has this information. 5. The font size is all over the place.
