TurboTax Premier is the best

I've used TurboTax Premier for many years now. The program makes it easy to complete a tax return. The accuracy and interface make it easy to understand what and why it's needed. I have on occasion used support for a problem I didn't understand with great results.

TurtboTax is User Friendly to Navigate Process

I experienced a few glitches that I was able to circumvent. I had a problem on State taxes of a swirling circle displaying "Calculating" & took a long time (+10mins) before I aborted the application. I attempted to contact your Turbo Tax live expert, but I had a difficult time to locate & access the right WEB online site. Instead, somehow I got to a WEB site "Ask for Advice" & needed to pay $50 for a 30 min session. Long story short, I managed to bypass the problem after researching thru AI, and getting an alternate method to resolve the problem without having to pay the $50.00. Additional glitch I encountered, was when the Final transmission of my Electronic filing for Federal & State, the status checked off for Reviewing, Preparing, Validating an had a swirling circle on Transmitting; that brought me back to the beginning start screen to file for Electronic taxes. Very frustrating to repeat process.

TT use to be great

I have been using TT since 1988 and I have to say this time has been a real nightmare. Not near as user friendly as in the past. I had to really work to find things. I did this yrs taxes 4 times and every time it was different and a different outcome. Sadly next yr I am thinking about having my taxes done. IF this yrs was done by AI then I'm done with TT. AI is NOT good !!!!!!!!!!

Turbo Tax did not submit a complete return!

I filed my federal and state taxes on 3/18. Both files have been rejected due to missing data. I am now in the midst of having to wait 8 weeks for my federal return to be processed, due to their ID theft guidelines. I am also in the process of emailing more information to NY state, and waiting for USPS mail to tell me my next steps to supply more missing data. I have use TT since it came out many years ago and never had a problem. This year I am wishing I had used another software. Why did I pay for a premium version only to be spending hours trying to correct mistakes that were made by Turbo Tax. I updated the software the day I filed. I ran error check several times. I have now been on the phone over 2 hours with the IRS and another 2 hours sending missing information to NYS. Please refund my $86. Thank you.

I had a problem with 2025 TT, but got it fixed

Turbo Tax "locked into" the Standard Deduction for me when the itemized deduction choice was clearly the better choice. I was not able to find a way to get to the screen where I could simply pick the one I wanted. To make the override happen I needed to delete all of my data entry in the Credit and Deduction section and start over. It took a while to come to that conclusion, bit it worked. The key, I think, is to not toggle back and forth to understand what is happening with the program - just make the choice and let it be.

Awful

Don't waste your money. TurboTax has become a masterclass in predatory upselling. Last year, using IRS Direct File was a much smoother, honest experience. It was straightforward, free, and didn't involve being hassled to "upgrade" every five minutes. Now that we've seen how simple filing directly with the IRS can be, paying TurboTax's exorbitant fees, especially their ridiculous $60+ charge just for state returns, feels like a total scam. Skip the corporate bloat and find a service that doesn't treat your tax return like a hostage situation.

unnecessary added UI irritating and time-wasting

1. The unnecessary gigantic summary pages when using "choose what I will work on" are hard to read, confusing, and unnecessary. If I choose "choose what I will work on" that's what I want. I want to see the whole list. I don't want unnecessary giant banners that force me to scroll and figure out what the heck does it want. 2. If you no longer support something basic in deluxe you need to tell the user and add an error message. don't just leave the UI and have it run in an inescapable loop and require the user to waste an hour trying to figure it out and then spend another half hour calling support. If youre going to require us to pay more, then have the guts to admit it up front. Don't trick me.

Glitchy

I've been using Turbo Tax every year for decades and it's usually dependable. This year, the download software was so glitchy and frustrating that I had to discard and start my return over again several times. I had to hunt down the Intuit phone number to get live tech support. Thankfully, the wait time on the phone was only about 5-10 minutes, and the person I spoke to gave good instructions about how to troubleshoot the issue. Even so, I think my days using Turbo Tax are done.

Good programming behind the UI

Overall a good experience but did have problems with the software when trying to create a Form 8949 Part II without a 1099-B for input. Couldn't input an Adjustment Code and Adjustment Value as the software wouldn't allow. Could overwrite the form programming but final review tells you this is not something you want to do and tells you to cancel the overrides. So, what to do?

TurboTax Update and Improved Import Experience

There was what seemed to be a substantial update to the product as opened the Turbotax desktop application. I hadn't opened the product in about 2 weeks. I re-opened the product around April 1, 2026, and received the update. It caught me a little off guard that there appeared to be a substantial update. But, I know that importing forms from investment companies worked after the update. Those form imports did not work before the update.
