I had conversations with two online associates as my older computer would not update. They were very patient and a huge help. As it turned out I feel pretty sure it was a filter block on my internet connection. I took the laptop to the office and used the business internet and it worked find.

This year's program did not include the screen option for in-putting Fm 1099-PATR entries. After much trouble I was able to get an answer through the "Help" field where forum posters explained the work-around method of manually entering the information via the "Do It Myself" option at the bottom of the Dividend Screen.

The partnership K-1, K-3 reporting is just as clunky as before, requiring you to create multiple forms for different income as well as foreign income. The drop down boxes that explains what is required in terms of entry is getting to be non existent. Same with the online help. Gemini was more helpful in addressing questions than TurboTax website!

I had a very time consuming snag just trying to pay for a state return. I was repeatedly asked for a password. I tried my Turbo Tax pw, made a new one, and still had problems. Make it clear what is requested!

My returns were rejected because of wrong fed IP pin. Your message said to open the program and I'd be instructed on how to fix this. The instructions in the program did not direct me where to make this correction. I tried to do in the "forms" area, but couldn't edit the pin there. I finally googled where to enter the correct pin in the step by step dialogue. Thank goodness for google, because it would have taken a very long time to find it otherwise!

I have used TurboTax for 20 years. I have found that the search function within the desktop interface has become worthless over the last couple of years. I can no longer use it to navigate between forms or sections of the interview process. The answers to questions seem unrelated to my queries. Also, I ran into the limit for federal filings. I have prepared taxes for myself and four children, a total of 5 filings. I have duplicated some of the files as I worked out some complicated tax issues (i.e., using a dummy federal K1 to be able to input a state-level K1). As I attempted to file electronically only the third federal return, I reached the limit. I now have to file three returns via the mail. Very disappointed. I have filed the same five returns electronically every year until this year.

Your help function is practically worthless. You will only respond to predetermined issues - which are about the easiest things anyone might ask. If it's a complicated question you don't have a canned answer for there is absolutely not help at all.

I have used TurboTax for decades, but this year was the first time I experienced major, frustrating issues. First, the software was incredibly glitchy, automatically entering random numbers into forms that did not match my data. I had to manually delete forms like Schedule A and restart the program just to clear the error. Second, the Federal Review process failed completely. Instead of catching all errors at once, the system made me submit, fix one single error, resubmit, and then fix another error. This tedious, one-by-one process was extremely inefficient. Finally, despite paying for TurboTax Advantage—which is supposed to include Audit Defense—I was hit with an unexpected $45 charge because I filed an extension. Since I filed my returns in September, TurboTax claimed I was outside the April 30th opt-in window. Charging extra for a service I already pay for just because I filed a valid extension is completely unreasonable.

Its always basically trash. Nothing but disappointment, which is odd since I get money back every year. Its my money I overpay, but to get it back I have to suffer through this process with this crap software.
