Turbo Tax is moving in the wrong direction

Imports screwed up second year in a row. Idiotic not to provide mailing addresses for payment at the end of the e-file process. I assumed I would be able to hit "back" to get to those rather than note the addresses in midst of process. Back button did not allow to revisit. $25 charge for state e-filing is crap as are the other intrusive upsells.

Error with inherited IRA import

The import of an inherited IRA didn't work correctly and resulted in an error of $801. I paid for your advisor and we walked through the return and I actually found the error. I should be refunded the $60 for the advisor since I found the error and it was Turbotax's problem.

TurboTax is a Great Product

I have used TurboTax for many years; I love how the software walks you through each step in preparing the taxes and suggesting entries to maximize the tax refund due. .I, also love the review at the end to make sure everything is complete and accurate.

Online vs Desktop & K1/K3 Issues

I tried on-line turbo tax this year and will not try again. I went back to desktop to finish. Several Reasons: 1) I do my daughter's taxes too, and I could not set up two files on-line 2) I have a K1/K3 in my taxes and could not get the on-line to clear an error without access to the forms. I can only access the forms with the desktop software. In addition, the K1/K3 entry is poor on both versions. I enter all the information asked for, yet still have missing entry information in the error check step that can only be answered in the form mode. This has happened every year. The software should ask you for the information if it is needed during the data entry phase.

TurboTax is slipping

I thought that TT was more difficult to use this year. I especially had difficulty downloading Etrade tax forms. It simply didn't work. The download from C. Schwab was also difficult and I ended up doing it twice and ended up with redundancy with no amounts on the 2nd try. I then had to delete the empty 1099-int, 1099-div and 1099-B. The 1099-R didn't download several fields and consequently I then had to manually enter them (after it caught them on the error check). The rental property safe harbor QID doesn't seem to allow me to put all my rentals into 1 enterprise - why not?

Automate More Data Passed to State Return

Arizona requires a worksheet listing by source the Federal tax free income taxable in Arizona. I had to go back to Federal inputs to reconstruct the entries manually when the worksheet could have been populated from 1099 Div and K-1s. Please can this be automated going forward.

Works and gets the job done.

I've used Turbo Tax for years so maybe I'm just getting old, but I feel it's just getting more confusing. Costs were very confusing when starting out online. So I bailed and got the desktop version. But then it was still pushing the online version. (I like looking at the forms to see where the numbers are going and I couldn't see that as an option online.) I really wish there was an way to streamline checking if we have enough deductibles with the new higher limit instead of spending all the time needed to enter it all in just to find we are way short. Also, after all this time why can't the state be more like the federal's question and answer? I don't think the program helps much with state taxes unless you know a lot about it already.

TurboTax State still not very Q&A

Disliked the AI ... it was much worse than previous years. It didn't find the answers to my questions. I had to do it myself in the forms. Sale of my house ... was logged as income in my state form in an comment about minimum tax. This really got me worried to the point where I filed the Schedule D and Form 8949 anyway

Data import failed

BAC / TurboTax (Intuit): The interface between Merrill and INTU failed during importing data from Merrill into TurboTax. After brief time, TurboTax displayed message saying the data import failed try later. I retried many times; created new TurboTax files again but still failed. Eventually, I entered the Merrill data by hand. Not only was the manual process tedious but the chance of error was greatly increased. Note: TurboTax was able to import data from Merrill Edge successfully. Note: Each attempt to import data from Merrill, I received email from Merrill, “We received your consent to share your account info with Intuit”.

Needs more work

This is the first time TurboTax has missed a big area for me. I have mulitple 1099's to pull down from several companies and TurboTax will not let me automatically pull the values in. Additionally, when there is an error in my tax return, caught by TurboTax, it does not walk me through the solution.
