Too many steps to "upsell" within the program. Too many places the program "dumbs" down, rather than simply having spaces to transfer from forms (specifically in the interest and dividend sections). Bring back It's Deductible. That was actually a very useful part of the program. Best feature is the carryover from previous returns (why I come back) for things like losses. Kind of ironic that this year, I needed to upgrade because i had a 1099-B, which I've had in previous years, so the Premium. Even though, for 20+ year, deluxe was sufficient.

Turbo Tax was more complicated this year beginning with the data merge with my financial company. I had to initiate it several times and in the end the program was asking me to provide data that it hasn't done in years past. I just didn't know what to enter. In years past it downloaded all the data that was necessary.

TurbpTax has evolved beyond its realistic use. Eliminating the CD is problematic. And some of the new features are not helpful. I have been using TurboTax since its inception and find last year and this years versions not as user friendly. though i still like the product.

After using Turbotax desktop for 30+ years and spending hours entering my 2025 data it now refuses to electronically submit the returns. All I get is the following useless error. I have used the old deluxe version of turbo tax for many years and always was very satisfied. This new desktop version is a disappointment because it has created a number of extra steps in tax return preparation and is not very user friendly. I hope you plan on keeping the desktop version because I do not want my tax return records on the cloud. i have no idea why you would have eliminated the Schedule D transactions from the former old deluxe version which was a great software product.

I bought a new computer to be able house Turbo Tax 2025. I have used it for many years. All my files were transferred with the correct endings to saved files. Still, my data did not transfer from 2024 to 2025. The answer from AI after several in effective ideas was to enter the data myself. It seemed insulting. On my state return, I had to report numbers lower than actual, to make the program accept the math. It was only a difference of $16, but it was a hassle to find the error.

This yrs turbo tax NOT as user friendly. For some reason I had to go into investments 1099-xxx and manually select and/or enter data. AL state tax same way. In the past yrs - (decades) TurboTax would guide me thru almost painlessly, this year NO SO.

I've been a TurboTax user for approximately 20 years and I'd like to suggest two improvements. (1) I'm a single, senior taxpayer with most of my income through dividends and capital gains. I'm frustrated by TurboTax in that I can't actually see how my tax is calculated. The tax is not calculated from a standard table and I've never found a worksheet where you show the calculations. I'm left in the dark about knowing how my tax due was calculated and whether it's accurate. (2) I have never gotten through your foreign tax credit calculation without the final check showing an error. It appears that TurboTax doesn't auto-fill some of the lines in Form 1116, especially 1a and 3a - 3g, for which it already has the information. The definition of some of those lines is obscure, so if you're not going to auto-fill them, you need to provide clearer definitions for the user. I have been using Turbo Tax for 15 years and been satisfied with the service. This year was an entirely frustratingly different experience. My return was rejected because Turbo Tax said there was local id information needed but there were no local taxes or id. I was bombarded with solicitations to pay for help throughout the process of entering information. I had the distinct impression that Turbo Tax was creating hurdles that would require me to pay for help. Today I received an IRS notice that my Social Security benefits were not taxed correctly. When researching the problem I noticed that this was a common complaint and was passed off as user error. I think the users were set up for error. This had never been a problem in the past. I'm thinking it's time to find new tax prep software.

I've been using Turbotax for several years (my first was 2021, when I decided I didn't need an accountant) I was happy due to how user friendly the system was. It actually guided me step by step with absolute clarity. THIS YEAR'S VERSION, 2025 PREMIER, IS MUCH MORE CONFUSING. I HAD TO GO BACK AND FORTH MANY TIMES. And I am not yet sure that all the information I entered was correct. Not the number itself but the type ofinfo required.
