First it only runs on Windows 11 which is an expensive upgrade. So you run win11 or mac OR you use the Web version. Its not very reassuring for all of your data to be on intuit servers. Every time you run TT it requires an update. The updates are SLOW taking hours sometimes. Cant you make a modular program with shared objects so updates are not to huge and slow. Its also undercut on price by several competitors.

I was an accountant for 25 years and used the professional version of Turbo Tax. Since I retired, I use the Premier version and have noticed over the past couple of years this program is getting harder to navigate. I have been trying to finish my return today and have had an awful time trying to get past Capital Asset Sales Entry Worksheet because when I check the last box and try to leave the page, the "x" disappears. I cannot make it stay where it is supposed to be. I have paid for E-file on my state which I now cannot use and must print out and mail my return after I have worked half the day to make this program work. If I want to talk to someone to find out if there is anything else I can do, I have to pay for the time which is not tax related. I have never been so frustrated and will not purchase this program again.

Turbo Tax "locked into" the Standard Deduction for me when the itemized deduction choice was clearly the better choice. I was not able to find a way to get to the screen where I could simply pick the one I wanted. To make the override happen I needed to delete all of my data entry in the Credit and Deduction section and start over. It took a while to come to that conclusion, bit it worked. The key, I think, is to not toggle back and forth to understand what is happening with the program - just make the choice and let it be.

The main reason I have for using Turbo Tax is that it imports tax forms from Fidelity. Otherwise it's a bit more expensive and not that much different from other software I've used like Block and TaxAct. The support people required a substantial wait and were a bit difficult for me to understand - accent / phone noise. Importing tax data from Fidelity and banks had a few glitches, but worked well enough after a few tries. A little disappointed in the info offered after filing - no comparision with others and few useful suggestions for next year. I used the desktop version up til now, but the on-line version seems like the way to go in the future... no updates to wait through and more questions and hopefully info.

The estimated tax section is terrible. I couldn't figure out where to enter my retirement income so the results were totally inaccurate. I talked to a live expert who couldn't answer anything specific about the software, such as where to input my retirement income. She was, however, quite helpful by recommending I ignore the software results if I felt they were inaccurate and told me I could use my own calculated results to pay estimated taxes. Given what I paid for this software, I shouldn't have had to calculate estimated tax payments myself.

This is the 35th year that I've used Turbo Tax to calculate my income taxes. I use Turbo Tax because it is accurate, compatible, and the interfacing with financial institutions makes it very easy to complete this task. While I don't have a complicated tax situation right now, the features of Turbo Tax makes it easy to cruise through the various income and deduction topics allowing me an opportunity to better understand various tax issues and situations. I have survived two audits dealing with charitable giving without complications. The support that I received from Turbo Tax was helpful.

There are important totals and information that would be beneficial to ensuring all information is correctly and completely entered. Then information is there, but it takes a "hunt" to find it. Menus to totals and entered information would be handy. Getting back to items in the State return for edit or review is very, very difficult and time consuming.

this year I had a trouble with the updates. Don't know weather its Windows 11 or you, the updates took forever to complete. one night i went to bed and in the morning the update had a error message. so I updated again and it went thru. Had to ask ChatGPT how to enter my IP pin, I used the desktop version.

I have concerns about the 2025 TurboTax Premier accuracy since it did not catch the missing data required by the IRS. Our return was rejected until I went back in to fix it. 20260414 This is the 3rd time I am submitting our tax return to federal & state due to TurboTax Premier not catching federal return errors!!! You need to hire me to do due diligence in testing TurboTax thoroughly. As a computer programmer of 40 years, I would never turnover to production this faulty software! Please offer me a job there so I can save your business. I am serious!

Not happy with this product, this time. I used it for the first time last year & it went much smoother. It cannot be our tax situation, since they are similar to last years. The State (NJ) Tax returns were particularly troublesome. With questions about the 2023 tax returns! Not understanding why since they have all that info!
