The program is not as self-explanatory as it has been in the past. When downloading from my investment account in previous years the program only required one connection to the internet, in this version there was numerous connections one for dividends, one for interest, etc. I often seemed to be stuck in a loop downloading the same information multiple times

Works but I lost confidence in the product this year. It seemed a little buggy this year. The interface treats the Payer ID differently in the input and review sections for foreign 1099-DIV that have no Federal ID. Input requires zeroes, and review section requires blanks. Interface requests for forms not included in the filing and requests the same information multiple times and at times unexpectedly. Printing form 1040-SR without truncating forms at the bottom was a real challenge on MacOS with an HP 2035. Printing behaved differently depending on where the print was selected. Only "Print forms for filing" got satisfactory results.

I really value the product you create, every year. This year, for the first time, a lot of things felt just somehow "foreign," as if there had been many changes i was not aware of. The flow seemed somehow different, and the verbiage as well. I navigated everything with relative comfort, however, I think due to general experience with your products. Perhaps a quick upfront piece on "What's New This Year" right within the product would have been good. (Or maybe it was there and I jumped right over it? Ha!) I most needed turbo tax early, - end of December till 15 Jan 2026 - in order to determine my tax liability for lump sum distribution of Social Security. Turbo Tax was not updated for key interfaces until end of January 2026. But the Federal Tax IRS information was also not complete as late as Jan 21, 2026 for IRA Distributions. Turbo Tax would not allow partial inputs for key elements in attempting to manage my liabilities for 2025. I framed my taxes manually early January in order to pay 4th quarter Tax payments. Early April, I returned to Turbo Tax and updated to finalize tax filing for 2025. The software hung up on the previous inputs accomplished in January. I completed my taxes manually. After complete, I started Turbo Tax over with a new file and it worked smooth. Generally the flow was good, with notes, recommendations, and explanations. Not having the forms available during the program made it difficult to follow some of the instructions. Bottom-line, Turbo Tax provided a good backup to my manually prepared forms.

The Turbotax premier worked well for me. I appreciate its ability to interface with my stock broker and my K 1 partnership. The bulk edit for stock sales could be improved to allow more items to edit. I had to open up each stock transaction to edit them.

I found importing data from brokerage firms was very confusing, difficult and frustrating. The steps necessary were different from years past. As data was imported and additional accounts were imported previous imports were identified as duplicates and actually, they were not.

It would be helpful to make an explicit instructions for entering all countries with foreign income on a brokerage statement as a single entry for foreign tax credit purposes to avoid redoing forms from scratch after figuring out that only 1 entry per broker per country is allowed.

I appreciate the two modes: step-by-step and Forms. I have a big problem when TT does not allow me to incorporate more data on deductions. That is, during an early pass of entering data, TT determines that the standard deduction is better than itemizing deductions. If I have more data to add later, it does not allow me to revisit the deductions, forcing me into taking the standard deduction. I can reset the determination by deleting a form, but that should not be necessary. That feature is quite frustrating.

Everything is very good except 2 things need to be improved : 1. NJ State case: There is one special case: In TIAA Retirement funds (403B), retirees already paid the state tax, however, the software has difficult to understand it, even more difficulty to handle it clearly (adjust cost, and decide taxable and excludable pars). 2. The speed and accuracy, the overall quality to respond/answer customers' questions are not very good. For many cases, the AL tools such as Gemini and ChatGpt are much better.

I have used TT for many years because I liked the Q and A format and the ability to have TT do all the calculations. However, one thing that I have always resented is the inability to easily print the information on a TT screen that I was working on. I don't understand why TT will not allow a customer to do this. Regarding TT expert assistance, I was unable to find the option I was interested in, which lies somewhere between asking a question and having an expert prepare my entire return. What I wanted was to prepare the return myself, and then have an expert review the entire return with me and identify any issues that I may have missed.
