I have used TurboTax for nearly 20 years. The product for tax year 2025 made several changes that took the product backwards related to features, functionality and included content. I ended up having to upgrade to a different tier of the product for this tax year even though the forms I needed did not change from tax year.2024.

The download process was smooth and simple. TurboTax guidance is efficient and typically easy to understand. The ability to import documents is a particularly helpful feature. Per the review process, our taxes are done accurately and have little risk of being audited. The e-file process was easy. The only objectionable aspect was the electronic filing fee for the state return, so we chose to file a paper copy. It seems to us that once we've paid for the product, we should incur an additional expense to e-file the state return.

Everything good except a glitch on this item below. "Dependent Wks form is complete and filled out, associated Student Wk form is filled out and has dependent specified as a student for 2025 - High School (Secondary). People Wk for dependent has blank TP/SP Link that will not populate. Form flags this as an error, if you try to efile your return it requests that you fix this error before filing. If you try to bypass the error and efile anyway it will not let you."

I have been using TurboTax to prepare my taxes for over 20 years! It has saved me so much time and effort and can't even imagine preparing taxes by hand. This program just seems to get better and better every year. Keep up the good work, TurboTax!

As usual the program was pretty easy to work, the step-by-step process was a bit more cumbersome, not sure why it a changed from the 2024 version. Most of the questions I had were not answered with useful information and I had to search on the web for clearer responses, the main problem seemed to be the "suggested topics," it seldom took me to the actual answer to a question.

TT seems as good as ever. I recognize the need to increase your market by offering direct support, although I find it unnecessary. I am disappointed that having used the Deluxe version for many years that you could not handle my return this year without charging me another $35 for the Premium version.

The import process was clunky and didn't seem to work this year. I had to manually input my interest and dividends. I was working very hard to avoid the need for estimated tax payments including applying some of my 2025 tax refund to 2026 taxes. After filing I realized I still had estimated tax payments. This was not evident as I prepared my taxes using Turbo Tax. It just felt like Turbo Tax this year was not the same quality as prior years.

- First year of using desktop TurboTax on a Mac after years of Windows. Switching between guided and exploring sections could be smoother. - Missing a box on an imported 1099R turned my IRA distribution into Canadian Railroad Pension income.... - And, as always, paying for e-file (state) is just greedy. E-file saves everyone time and money. Use that savings to fund e-file. As I have done for several years now, I will open my state return and copy the numbers over into my state's free online e-file system...

Once I got into actually filing the return, things went great. Getting there was overly difficult. My gripes: 1. I go to create an Intuit account and am redirected to create a Credit Karma account. Feels scammy! 2. Constantly being pushed to the online version over the desktop. 3. Opening a prior year .pdf from TaxAct on desktop version Mac resulted in an unhelpful "boop" noise from the speaker and nothing happening. Some weird bug where you need to go to File --> New Tax Return, then try the import again to get it to work. Needed an AI to find the solution on TurboTax's forum. 4. Be sure to put dashes in your social security number or your W2 import won't work! 5. It could have imported more things from my prior year return (carryover history), but that's a small nitpick. 6. This review input box constantly altering what I am typing.

Used it since early 90's have been hooked on the suit. However the dialog boxes for the download version State Filing Payment screen needs to be fixed. They will not size/scale and the continue button get hidden behind the MS tray. When screen is set to certain resolutions, it will causes dialog box navigation issues
