I've been using this product for 20+ years, and every year they try o make cute little tweaks, assuming that people are stupid. Maybe they are. There are endless pages that you answer "no" to, and when you go through a section those questions still pop up. There are lots of little glitchy errors. The "mark estimated" option appears to no longer exist. This was great if you didn't have some paprwork handy but didn't want to stop the whole proess to look for it.

I have used this software for years and at the end i still must enter my information two or three times.Turbo tax interface is the same as it was 5 years ago! i load my credit card info for staet return and hit transmit. Then i get an error message to correct my downloaded W2. Why am i getting an error message at that point! My daughter's return required a form 8615. Why could the software allow me to direct it to my Turbotax return. Secondly Form 8615 required Schedule D information. I did not have a schedule D. the software or your help options would not provide any details on what to do. Again, my comment is, "Your software is outdated."

I have used TurboTax for over 20 years and I find doing taxes to be efficient with this application. I also file thru TurboTax and get my refunds faster than most. I like that it handles my investments and rental property tax situations clearly and accurately.

* After update, says "Continue using Turbotax" click that but half of the time, it doesn't restart. * Updater Preferences window is HUGE and can't be resized, can't see the OK button at the bottom. * There are two Import Financial Institutions both names Charles Schwab & Co., Inc (one has a period at the end and the other doesn't). * You ask me "Did <you> make any nondeductible IRA contributions to your traditional IRA in prior years?" YOU KNOW if I answered Yes to this in my prior tax return, in that case you shouldn't be asking me again, or at least you should prepopulate the correct answer if it was previously Yes in a prior year, or give me a different more intelligent prompt like "We see last year you had nondeductible IRA contributions, would you like to work on this now?" * Need to pop-up/use web browser to IMPORT data and give it some weird permission, very odd and uncomfortable, not happy this couldn't be done all within the TurboTax software like it was in all prior years. * Near the end of "Installing Updates," The progress number goes to some wacky value like "-684562%, >45 minutes" for a few seconds. * Saved my work and exited, when I came back it did not remember where I left off, it brought me back to the complete beginning. * You asked about my spouses nondeductible prior year IRA contributions, and her account value (from form 5498), but not about mine. * You have a screen that says "Let's enter <your> HSA contributions in 2024" and all the numbers are zero, you imported my 2024 return so you should have prepopulated this with the correct info, not have me dig through my old return which you already imported. * Sometimes you prepopulate a Zero ($0) in a field, then when I click into that field and start typing, you don't erase the zero, so my entry shows up with a leading zero, it probably doesn't matter but it just shows how careless your programming and testing has become. * When starting the Deductions section, I chose "Walk me through everything" and then it tells me "We've covered 2 of 10 sections, select Next to continue" - Um, no you didn't cover any sections yet, why did you skip the first two?

This is probably my fourth year filling my taxes with TurboTax and each year it is a flawless task. The program provides additional information when you get confused to help understand what you are doing or where to get the information they are looking for. I like that it back checks your work throughout the whole process to eliminate any mistakes or issues.

I had trouble with a 1099-Q to me but was for my granddaughter. It was a small amount but I ended up paying a tax on it because the software didn't walk me though it well enough. I also am concerned that there will be a problem with the 1099-R as I have 3 IRAs but take the total RMD required from 2 of them. I entered all information as the software requested but I'm concerned as there didn't seem to be anywhere to enter the RMD for the 3rd IRA that I didn't take anything from because I took more from the other 2 and didn't need to take any from the 3rd.

The system does not understand that I can be single for Federal Tax but married RDP for CA and therefore rejects both because of the discrepancy of filing status. This is even with constant updates through 4/2/2026. I paid $25 to e-file CA, and AFTER paying, I am told you cannot e-file.

After a respite where we had more complex returns given the death of two family members, we came back to compete our own return (which we had done for years previously). TurboTax never ceases to amaze me with its simplicity that can make a moderately complicated return seem easy with the guided process. The ability to import records from our investment providers is such a powerful function that make it possible for us to do the return ourselves. It's good to back with TurboTax!

Love Turbotax. But two big misses. First, upon filing, all of a sudden I was notified that there was a Turbotax update. Why that later. Second, my return was rejected because I had not submitted an IRS PIN I received. There was no question in all of the entry process to ask if that had been received.

TurboTax was a much better product years ago. The Help and Search features were better. For example, I searched Help for where to find the amounts of estimated tax to pay for 2026. I followed the directions to find the correct section. But the directions said to search for the phrase WHICH BROUGHT ME BACK TO THE SAME LIST OF INSTRUCTIONS. Also, we used to be able to hop from the step-by-step to the forms and be on the corresponding line. Now it just goes to the form and I have to search for the correct line.
