NEED SMARTER SOFTWARE and BETTER UI

The state software is pretty much useless. The language is ambiguous and vague. In places I don't even know what year you are asking about. This happens in the federal software also. You should have a policy of clearly identifying the state and year you are asking about on each question. This is just the beginning - there are many other issues in what seems to be software written in a rush with little UI quality testing. Also, why do I have to struggle with so many of the questions? Isn't your software supposed to figure things out for me? Some of the help information is so confusing I just give up and move on. YOUR SOFTWARE SHOULD TELL ME WHAT TO DO to minimize my taxes. Default your help screens to a larger font.

Great Product

I have used Turbotax for many years and found it to be an excellent product. The software has been enhanced many times since I started using it, keeping it up to date with comprehensive features and simplifying the overall process of filing a return.

see above

Disappointed with return/process due to the fact that Intuit tried to slip in $70 of additional fees which were not fully explained. Specifically, one was identified as "turbotax premium service" and "state efile fee". To correct this, I had to contact support. It appears that they were able to resolve the turbotax premium service, but I was advised that the only way to avoid the state efile fee was to print and submit the form via USPS.

Really Appreciate the Desktop compared to new onli

I tried the online version, but the desktop is far more inviting and easy to follow. I only tried the online version because it was not clear whether TT was dividing the categories into e.g., desktop=must mail it in vs. online= dont have to mail return in. The online version could be most improved by copying the more comprehensive instructions in the desktop version--or inviting only certain eg "EZ" filers..That point could have been made clearer at the entry points.

Losing a custumer

Every year you change your product unnecessarily. I use Turbo Tax to file every year, so that it stores my and makes completing my taxes easier. You have a track record of making changes that make my taxes harder. This year has been a nightmare. This year I'm at the last step and can't transmit my taxes because of some software bug. You added some crazy feature that is apparently affecting a lot of people. And despite having to wait for "updates" every time I start your program, you can't fix this bug before tax day. What am I paying you for? I can file using free software. And I plan to do so in the future.

From big fan to hating it now

I have been using Turbo Tax for ages, since long before it was an Intuit product. This year was my absolute worst experience and I doubt I will use it again next year. The Deluxe product is now pretty bare, so I had to get the Premier. Then it never asked for my IRS IP PIN, so my return was rejected and I had to to figure out where to enter it on the software because it doesn't show up in the usual questions. I know it used to be. Also I had questions about the program itself, nothing to do with taxes, but was directed to JustAnswer and a CPA, so more $$$. Seriously, I don't know what's happened to Turbo Tax, but it can't be any worse.

Turbo tax sucks

Th is no guidance or clean way to handle interest paid by a foreign bank that does not have EIN. I spent two hours on this issue and finally AI figured out how to report it in a way EIN was not required. I had to go through several trials to delete the 1099 MISC form I had created and enter it in W2 section of the other reportable income.

Turbo Tazx STILL no user friendly

Very frustratiing experience. One screen tells me everything is complete, then later it tells me I need to enter more information. There is no way to blow past that error and no way to file without the information. AND it doesn't help you with what information shoudl be entered or where to find it.

none

I was disappointed in the flow of the questions and navigation through Turbo Tax. I also felt like the explanations were not crisp and I needed to make my reading of what the information provided me. I also did not see why each time I loaded the program it wanted me to go online. There was no explanation in terms of why I should do that. Therefore, I kept all files on my laptop. Why would I want to do this online?

Online vs Desktop & K1/K3 Issues

I tried on-line turbo tax this year and will not try again. I went back to desktop to finish. Several Reasons: 1) I do my daughter's taxes too, and I could not set up two files on-line 2) I have a K1/K3 in my taxes and could not get the on-line to clear an error without access to the forms. I can only access the forms with the desktop software. In addition, the K1/K3 entry is poor on both versions. I enter all the information asked for, yet still have missing entry information in the error check step that can only be answered in the form mode. This has happened every year. The software should ask you for the information if it is needed during the data entry phase.
