I've used TurboTax for many years and like it. This year, I missed checking the box indicating I had QCD form IRA to charity, and wasted a lot of time then figuring out how to enter that. The first couple help screens I tried were worthless, telling me to click on an item that would not come up without that box checked, but said nothing about going back and checking that box; but finally I entered the proper words and got the video of how to go back to that screen and select the box to do it. That video should come up whenever "QCD" is entered as part of any Help entry. A second issue: I had to upgrade to Premier because of a 1099B from my brokerage firm for $1.90. I could have entered it manually, but it wouldn't let me download any of the brokerage info until I paid $35 and upgraded to Premier, all because of a 1099B for $1.90 income.

I tried the online version of TurboTax, but there was a problem with the OH state version that caused my return to be rejected. I was told that a "fix" had been identified, and that I needed to wait until 3/19 to fix my return. Unfortunately the fix didn't address my issue. I was forced to revert to the desktop version, and mail my state return.

Turbo tax makes data entry fairly simple with some simple links to my stock accounts. I wish there was an automatic interface to handle stock options and short sales without having to go in and modify the cost basis and sales information to account for losses. One minor complaint is the final tax review process. I thought I was all done and ready to file when I got an error message that said the latest version was not up to date. I had to get out of the final step only to reload the latest version of TurboTax. Yes, it's only a minor inconvenience but it seems that final software update should have been programmed in right before the final tax review. Overall. Turbotax is a great tool and timesaver.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years to prepare my federal and state income tax returns. Some years have been more complicated than others but the software has been relatively easy to use and always accurate. Great product and this year for the first time i filed electronically. We'll see how that goes.

When I take a break, close TurboTax on my desktop and come back at a later time or day, it aways opens to the very beginning/start of the return. When I first started using TurboTax over 25 years ago, it always took me right back where I had last entered in information. I do not like that this is not still possible. It may be, but I do not know how to get that to happen anymore. Also, TurboTax is getting less easy to use.

I've been using Turbo Tax since the 1990s. This year was a bit disappointing. There were several problems that needed manual updating to correct. One was with importing brokerage data. In preparing two returns, I had to manually delete double instances of INT & DIV forms. Additionally in preparing two returns, both kept coming up with "enter data for Canadian income", of which neither of us had any, this year or last year (imported last years data. While in the end we got filed. No errors detected. But it's buggy.

The product is generally excellent. I think it handles many tax situations very effectively and has a great user interface. I think in the near future, Agentic AI systems are going to make this software obsolete. It was a good run. I have two things: 1. I have complained about this every year so here goes again: please fix the problem where you can't upload two times from the same brokerage. I know I am supposed to clear my cache and reload the program, etc. but it still never works, and I always give up and have to type in the second one. I use the desktop version. This has been an issue for many years. Can you please fix it???? 2. There was a strange bug this year when I looked at the summary of 2024 deductions vs 2025 deductions. The 2024 deductions were all listed correctly but the total was off by around $20,000. It didn't seem like the number it was off was attributable to any of the figures in the list above, it was just a weird number.

I've been using turbotax for 30 years, dealing many quirks along the way, but this version was one of the worst - so much that this is the first review I have ever given. The interview process was awkward and incomplete. Explanations are much fewer than in the past. It created forms that were not applicable, for no reason (why did it ask me about Canadian accounts when I had no dealings in Canada?). It took me into a tax penalty computation when my tax liability was less than $100. The HSA interview and forms were awkard and confusing with no explanations. It's probably time to look at other tax software.

Old & analog so most of the time I'm lost in cyber space! I spent much more time trying to figure out what I was supposed to do & then going back to "see" if I'd done things correctly. Definitely not "cyber idiot" friendly. I'll definitely keep using TurboTax because left to my own devices, I'd probably be in IRS prison for a very long time.

Unless you know turbo tax, it is difficult to navigate. Need to ask a question and the phone number is nowhere to be found. Needed to do a web search to find the number. (very poor). Got to talk to two agents. The first one said Turbo tax is correct and the 1099 is wrong and go to the supplier of the 1099 to have it fixed. Wrong! (poor) The second agent (Justin) found the issue and led me to the correct understanding. It was me not recognizing that a number entered was being reflected in the total. Justin gets a Gold Star.. (excellent)
