User interface is abominable. To be sure I wasn't a bot, I had to go through 15 ROUNDS of checking boxes containing motorcycles, etc. If your method needs 15 tries, it's a lousy method & should be changed. If you're trying to get the user seething with frustration, you're succeeding. Documents from brokerages...I went through the menu to get the forms from my broker. For some reason, I couldn't log on to Schwab--it's offer to send a text verification, then said it wasn't available. I logged on to Schwab with no problems, downloaded my statements. could I upload them? I could not. But I could copy the numbers. And for vanguard, I needed the account number and document ID--WHICH I HAD TO DOWNLOAD THE FORM MANUALLY TO GET. But again, I couldn't submit the PDF I'd downloaded, but had to copy the numbers from that one so you could retrieve it directly. And when it tried to connect to Vanguard, I again had to go through 6 rounds of checking boxes with motorcycles--which I hadn't had to do when logging on to Vanguard directly. So that's not them, that's you. It's like it's been designed to be awkward, clumsy, and inconvenient. You've got the resources to hire competent developers. But apparently that's too much bother.

If I use Turbo tax year after year, why do I need to look up past years information, the software should be able to do that for me. Also, I don't like the fact that once I answer a question in a section and I revisit it I have to answer the same question again, please fix this.

I do my return as well as my daughters. Turbo tax confuses the states and I lost out on my one free state because it drew from my daughter's return - a state where I don't file. When I go to e-file my returns the list includes the state my daughter lives in and when I go to e-file her returns the list includes the several states I file in. The returns should be maintained completely separately.

like the easy transition between guided entry and forms. some questions are slightly vague. do NOT like the newer (started 2024) format for seeing and entering 1099-int and 1099-div. can't see all items to be entered or deleted, based on previous year, on one page in a 'table' layout. cumbersome.

TurbpTax has evolved beyond its realistic use. Eliminating the CD is problematic. And some of the new features are not helpful. I have been using TurboTax since its inception and find last year and this years versions not as user friendly. though i still like the product.

When you use the guide me through everything feature and finish a section it throws you to the top of the page which you then have to scroll down to where you were. Makes for a lot of wasted time scrolling down plus the confusion of thinking you are in the wrong place. Turbo tax in the beginning did put you back at the bottom and was easy to get to your next subject.

I have had nothing but problems upon problems while using the TT software. First, I found it really hard to install TT on a MAC device. It seems TT is not able to create a Native MAC application. I have to use an Intel chip emulator on my MAC device to run TT. This is terrible. What happens when in the future MAC updates this Intel chip emulator is not supported? I will not be able to run my older returns. Do I file a lawsuit to get all my money back? So just after I pay up for State TT Software and am about to file my return. TT returns with an error saying transmission failed and some obscure instructions about not having the correct updates. Shouldn't TT be checking for updates constantly and saving me the hassle and stress of dealing with Transmission errors due to updates?? This is just a terrible experience. My taxes are fairly simple. Maybe I will move to another Tax software next year while really providing terrible reviews online.

I have been using TurboTax for doing my taxes for decades. The only request I have would be to update the software so I can import my Form 1065 K1/K3 automatically. It has been something I have wnatedd for a loong time. Last year when I called a tax representative, I was told that they do not wok on Form 1065 K1/K3 at all so I had to do this myself. I did the work and have filed my taxes for 2025 but it wold be nice if that for and all other forms of a K-1 could be processed autmatically.

I like how the product shows the previous year entry if you use it both years. I do not like the constant advertising and upselling. I do not like how the product charges extra to file the state electronically, eventhough you bought a Federal + State Download product. It is misleading. This year, there were a few places that the product got wrong and I had to enter the form view to make corrections.

I use TurboTax because of my investments. Investments illustrates the good and the bad of TurboTax from my point of view. Assuming that TurboTax is correct in choosing to fill out the numerous schedules and worksheets that it does, then that is a good point because I would never have had the patience to do that. On the other hand, in investments as well as other categories, there is no way for me to check on the numbers that TurboTax generates until the return is completed, so I have t have faith that they are correct as I proceed through the data entering phase.
