TurboTax requires too much manual efforts, which I am able to get eventually figure out using GPT. If GPT can provide much better answers, why do I need Turbotax? Additionally, it was looping in the "Filing" stage, complaining I must "Delete State / Zip Code in NJ-HCC section", which was auto populated by TurboTax and never detected in the previous UIs. Very frustrating and bad experience.

Given the complexity of our tax filing, TurboTax greatly simplifies the process. That said, TurboTax remains awkward when addressing the more complex investment issues such as1031 Exchanges. TT further fails to allow brokerage account renaming after account download, thus losing detailed account description.

TurboTax is a very good product, but I needed help and I had Outstanding Support for Tech Jeffrey, he made sure I was back on track and guided me across the finish line, right through the electronic filing! My experience this year was shadowed by an experience filing my 2024 taxes. The IRS kept my refund for nearly 6 months without giving us a reason. After many hours of phone calls and letters as directed we finally got our refund. I do not anticipate the same problem this year, but it could happen. My concern is that after importing information from the 2024 forms the 2025 program showed a refund of more than $14,000 dollars. After ups and downs during the entering of information the number did not vary by much ending with a figure very much like las year. I did use two professionals during the process, and they were very helpful in getting my information in the correct places.

Not good product for general tax filer, it is lot of flaws. it seems the product is created for some software person, and even software professional may have problem to use this product. Every time i open the product it not open on the same where i left. It try to sync the information to online, but desktop and online version is not sync properly and I always getting alert about filing is pending. I am not comfortable to use this product.

I have used Turbo Tax for decades, and, when I use it, I find that the tool knows more than I do. Entering data is simple with the guided prompts. When there is a confusing section, the help option clears up what i needed. The state return is basically completed using the info from the federal return. E-file is great.

I have used TurboTax for years and have liked its features and ease of use. However, there are two areas that need improvement. 1. TT needs to be clearer about handling multiple IRA RMD's especially when I choose to take of my required RMD's from one IRA which is permitted by Federal law. I don't feel confident that TT understands and account for all of my RMDs. 2. TT eliminated "Its Deductible" software which was a VERY helpful tool when preparing for Non-Cash charity contributions. PLEASE give us back "Its Deductible".

1. I do not want be forced to use acrobat for printing!. I detest it. 2. Too many unnecessary questions. I accidentally checked a wrong box not germane to my return and had to file an amended return 3. Amended return with Turbo Tax kept producing inaccurate results.

I engaged with three of your agents. One of them dropped my call and did not call back. One of them was going to check something and put me on hold and it transferred me back into the 20 minute que to get an agent. Spent way too much time 2 hours trying to get help to import data from my brokerage. Never had that problem before in 18 years. Very frustrating!!!

I like that TurboTax shows me last years number versus the current year. This feature is super helpful and boosts my confidence that I got everything. I like that I can import much of my data from my brokerage and payroll provider. The extra validation checks are re-assuring like the audit risk meter and such. Why not five stars? A couple years ago I filed using the online/web product. TurboTax didn't tell me how much it would cost until I had already completed my taxes and was ready to file. I was charged more than twice as much as the desktop product for pretty much the same return as the previous year. I felt so betrayed, but I wasn't ready to spend another four hours doing it all over. Never again! In addition TurboTax doesn't seem to innovate very much from year to year. I feel like I'm only getting tax law updates between versions. That's essential but I consider it tables stakes for a tax product in 2026. What would be innovative? Build a helper AI agent custom trained or with RAG so I get answers to my tax questions with the latest info from the IRS. For example I had no idea what "qualified business income" was. Qualified for what? to win a pony? I went to the IRS site, looked up qualified business income for schedule C and then feed that along with my circumstances to ChatGPT to get a plain English answer and recommendation for how to answer. TurboTax could have done all that for me via a baked-in AI agent and said "The TurboTax agent recommends that you say yes based on your tax circumstances". It could have then provided the data sources with all the usual AI hallucinates disclaimers.
