Downloading, which I require, TurboTax 2025 for Windows 11, with McAfee present is a cumbersome disaster. Much on-phone work with Intuit was necessary to even install the program. Intuit needs much more technical coordination of impending issues when operating systems changes are required.

You have taken a historically effective product designed to file taxes and turned it into a continous unending effort at selling additional services. I found it difficult to earned tax credits and ended up using AI to walk me through your product to find the correct filing. You missed the first time at finding the credit and I corrected it your software with accuracy my correction guided by external AI was correct.

Entering income information is more difficult than several years ago. There is no invitation to download financial information early in the process. Instead one is presented with a confusing set of icons through which one is invited to download financial information, whether it has anything to do with the icon or not. Icons then proliferate, and it is difficult to know which of them are redundant and which need to be kept. It is then difficult to review the financial information you have then entered. I found a indirect way to get to my information, but it shouldn't be this difficult. Another oddity is that the program doesn't remind you to check for updates until you are ready to transmit the forms. You would think that you would do this earlier in case the update has any effect on the calculations or refund.

Turbo is usually great, however this year the import process had a bit of a security issue. I understand this can happen and things change but turbo tax should have posted a solution to fix security hang up. Instead they recommended manual entry of transactions. Solution is to reset permissions to access local network.

I have been using TurboTax for years. This year I found it annoying. The save feature didn't work on my MacBook and the encrypted save made it worse. I found it too automated and opaque so I was never sure what was going on in the background and whether the automated calculations were accurate or correct. Not a happy user. I will try another product next year.

I really like the financial documents import feature, it saves a lot of time. I couldn't get my 2025 Turbotax to transfer my personal data from my 2024 return and I could never figure out why, so, big disappointment. Turbotax is certainly a very good product but in my opinion could still use some improvements and polishing in numerous areas, but I'm still going to give it 5 stars.

I didn't like that I had to pay additional fees at the end to file my state tax return. That should've been disclosed up front. And it keeps on trying to bill my for the audit defense program when I wanted to opt out. Feels very bait and switch. Or I was force to pay the final fees at the end to file.

I found 2025 TurboTax very difficult to use. The downloads fromm brokage firms was easy, but too much data was loaded into TurboTax. This would normally not be a problem, however with one of my accounts (Pershing), many stock calls were purformed, resulting in many of the flags to be set wrong. This caused me hurs and hours of work trying to sort out this mess to get all of the TurboTax errors corrected. I believe I must now go to a Tax Accoount for future tax preparation. TurboTax greatly complicated my tax preparation and failed me this year.

It was easier to complete taxes myself without TurboTax. First, you are required to create an account even though you are installing desktop software. This defeats the purpose of completing your taxes offline. After installing, you are constantly bombarded with popups advising you to upgrade to their web-based software or use their live assistants for additional fees. I understand informing the consumer of your products, but if I've rejected the upgrade four times already, what makes you think I will happily accept it on the fifth offer? When I tried to upload my forms, I was again required to verify my TurboTax login before it would import the form. Why should I even have to have an account for a copy of software running locally and supposedly offline? The software has bugs where if you choose for it to walk you through every step it will skip very important steps. For example, it completely skipped the section where you claim child tax credits even though I selected I had dependents. If I had not caught this it would be a difference of thousands of dollars. It also produced errors in my tax forms that were found by my CPA. When I went to file, I was informed that the add-ons I purchased to complete state taxes did not apply to e-file and I would have to pay an additional fee to complete my e-file. Even this review form has bugs where the AI detection of review topics is preventing text entry when typing more than 10 words per minute. I will never buy an Intuit product again.

The interface has the annoying property of returning to the TOP of a list when you finish one of the list item edits. Please change this behavior so the TurboTax interface shows the part of the list containing the item just completed by you. Your phone support is awesome! Nice, knowledgeable people.
