Really upset no longer works on Windows 10

I've used Turbo Tax since the 1990's. However this year, with the fact that the downloaded local version will NOT work on Windows 10 really a problem now. This fact cost many HOURS of extra time given I had to use 3 separate computers to compile information, go back and forth because some computers would not connect to each other and also would not network together and the some computers would not accept a USB thumb drive. In addition one of these computers is NOT able to upgrade to windows 11. NOTE I Do not want my stuff uploaded to the online version so that was not an option either. Given Windows 10 is still extendable for another year through Microsoft, it should have been supported.

Great product, but constant add-on sales ads

TurboTax has a good, simple platform to file taxes. However, they have turned their platform into a intrusive add-on sales machine that constantly askes about purchasing upgrades or pushing you to their online version. Product is becoming less appealing every year.

Only Glitch was entering CC Data

Overall Experience was good. But when I went to pay the state tax filing fee, on the Credit Card Entry form it would only allow you to enter experation months up to 10 (oct) and my main CC expires in 12 (Dec) So this was annoying so I had to go use another CC that had an earlier Month Epiration DAte. Be nice if you could fix this for next yea.

Old time user

I have been using TurboTax since it was called MacInTax. I prefer to do my own personal bookkeeping (Quicken) and taxes. ... and I really really really prefer doing it on my Mac rather than online. The ability to download my brokerage accounts is huge help. Schedule K-1s for publicly traded LLCs are a huge pain to do by handout maybe soon

Turbo Tax has regressed in user friendliness.

It was difficult for me to manually enter a 1099-R form that could not be imported. I would have preferred to automatically be shown the forms that were downloaded. As it was I had to hunt around to be able to find this information. that was a HUGE drawback to this year's software.

TurboTax does the job - has a couple of quirks

Two small issues: 1. Instructions for Form 8949 are obtuse. All I needed to include was the 1099-B detail page for trans with non-reported cost basis. 2. After deductions & credits, review page ERRONEOUSLY shows vehicle registration fees added to PRIOR year standard deduction.

Ancient program in serious need of modernization!

The state returns--at least VA and CA--produce inaccurate results. CA fails to create accurate forms although the end amount of tax seems correct for non-resident returns. VA does not handle deduction for long term care correctly. It asks for premiums for each spouse and then only uses of them. VA instructions indicate that both are deductible.

Software Hangup?

I'm upset because the software tells me I need to insert a correct "recipient's zip code" for one instance of interest income (from one of our banks), but each time I do, it does not submit the return for e-filing--it is stuck in a 'do loop' of sorts. Very frustrating as it seems the return checks out for accuracy in all other ways.

Blah Blah

problem with your software is it sometimes pulls stuff out of thin air and acts strangely. example: while going through my income it suddenly came up with wanting to declare my Canadian pension income. it's never asked that before and I've used turbo tax for years. besides I've never worked or did anything in Canada. But after adjustments it gets the job done.

Yes, but . . .

We are long-time users. TurboTax walks us through quite well, but this year's version got caught in a loop several times and the interface was not clear how to put in capital gains. The help panel was helpful for that. We use the desktop version because we are very concerned about privacy. It was hard to get it this year, because the TurboTax website kept wanting us to do the work online. This was very, very irritating, and will get us exploring other options next year.
